If Garrett rushes Romo back into service on week 1 he needs to be immediately fired. You have to consider how much it would hurt the team rather than help it.

Of course, it could really be Jerry saying this and Garrett is just the messenger.
When has Jerry needed a messenger?

I don't see it being up to him, or any injured player. He said he "felt fine" Thursday night too so again we see what that's worth.

Doctors know. And they knew about his collarbone last year when everyone else wanted to rush it. And we all know who ended up being right and wrong about that too.

We've seen them try to hold him out of regular season games before and he's gone in and played. Punctured lung.....

And now he's older and sustained more and more injuries. He's not the real Superman.

I'm not too familiar with the injury but if it's one that's a pain tolerance injury only I think the time frame is way off and then he could play week 1.

Now if it's an injury that could get worse with hits and him throwing, running, etc then he needs to sit and get healed up first.

That's because they didn't know until after the game. Now they do.

Remember. This is the guy that told Tom Brady "See you in January" in week 5 of last year after the team had just gotten blown out 30-6 and his arm was in a sling.

If his body was flattened by a steam roller, his animated head would still be screaming he could play.

Just kind of is what it is.

I will double down and take this bet as well. he is not playing week 1 or 2

Now I'm wondering what they'll end up doing with the roster? Do they continue to go down the 'hope' route and keep Romo on the 53-man roster?

If so, are they then forced to bring in a veteran and keep four quarterbacks? And the , that costs another player his spot?

Do they sign a vet, keep Romo, Prescott, and that vet, and drop Showers, costing him his roster spot?

Or do they IR Romo and designate a return after 8 weeks?

I can't help but wonder what they decide to do with the roster.

Exactly. And shows what those words are worth.

One of the aspects of the Rise of Dak has been the sense of Romo doing everything he can to stay relevant. You can tell he feels the pressure. Frankly, it negates all the Romo-friendliness of recent here.

I looked up this injury and the issue isn't how he feels but what happens if he damages it more. Fracturing a vertebrae is one thing but they make the point that further injury could cause it to collapse resulting in not being able to stand up properly afterward. I would hope he wouldn't base it only on how it feels but instead the damage that another hit could do to him. I love the guy! Nobody can say he isn't tough or that he doesn't want to make the team a success. But he and the team do have to take his future seriously.
