I don't know about all of them, but Bortles I know started that preseason against backups in game 1 and 2. But I truly appreciate the info. It is great analysis.

That was my point. I think Dak went against starters longer than the others and still looked good. Vanilla , chocolate or Rocky Road defenses.

Maybe Favre having a Top 10 defense 8 different seasons had something to do with his playoff success. Without one, he wasn't any more successful in big games than Romo has been.

Playoff wins
with Top 10 Defense
Favre 8 seasons, 12 wins
Romo 1 season, 1 win

without
Favre 10 seasons, 1 win
Romo 8 seasons, 1 win
I'd like a response to this @ufcrules1

Or anyone. I just heard that idiot SAS totally ignoring this fact about Romo and lack of D yesterday.

Zeke and Alf are going to give Dak & Dez & Witt & Bease & T-Will & Brice so many favorable matchups.

Yup, agreed. Dak is in a tremendous position to be in. He will be in a similar situation as Romo was in 2014, only difference is he has a better starting RB and a better backup to that RB. I really would like to see Brice more too. I think he and Dak have a lot of chemistry. Big receiver who has good hands.. doesn't catch the ball with this body like T-Will does.

That may be Romo's first game back actually.

I'm talking about cross comparison and establishing himself. The dominant thought being Dak Prescott showing more initial vlaue than Philadelphia's highly priced draft pick.

Oh, nice point, as Wentz being showed up by a Dak would be a great fan delight, although...we'll have to wait to see, there.

I think Dak right now is the better QB. However, i still think Wentz has higher upside. The Eagles are playing with fire throwing him to the wolves this early. Could quite possibly ruin him.

Prescott has improved quite a bit from the time that he left college. He attended a quarterback school with Payton Manning, and studied intensely with Tony Romo and the coaching staff. I wouldn't rush into limiting his talents as they grow. Tony knows a thing or two about development...and that will be passed down.

Always an excuse. Nobody cares about that except you and other Romo sympathizers. Seriously dude. Favre was a 3 time (consecutive) MVP. How many times has Romo won the MVP? Lead his team to 13 playoff victories, 2 super bowls, also holds the all time consecutive starts by ANY NFL player record. Think about that for a second.. out of all players who EVER played the game, Favre was #1 in consecutive starts. He is the Cal Ripken of football. Iron man.

Here is what you are missing with your stats. Even if Dallas has a top 10 defense for many years, we have no clue if Romo would have played well in the win and in games/playoff games. He played bad right along with the rest of the team in some of those games. Remember Washington 2012? History will not care of what "might" have been if X Y and Z were in place. History will care about what DID happen.

It's just about time to move on to the Dak era. Are you ready?

Oh i wasnt taking anything away from Prescott. hes the future of our franchise, and i believe will be the best QB out of this class. I meant as it stands right now. Wentz has more upside. After week 1. I doubt my opinion remains the same.

No one is asking for history to be rewritten.

We are asking you to look at what happened and understand.

We've presented you with information a child could understand. A small child. Why are you incapable of processing such simple information?

People can say what they want, Daks preseason performance isn't about the stats, it is how poised and confident he looked doing it. I think his upside is a better Russel Wilson. I believe we will get good enough QB play from him immediately to win games with his supporting cast and I think the best part is his arrow is not just pointing up it is pointed up in a steep incline.

A better Russell Wilson...wow

First premise wrong...no one but Percy cares.

Second premise wrong...Tony Romo hasn't proven top shelf talent in leading his team, no matter the circumstances.

Third premise wrong...insult of another's post just doesn't improve discussion of facts.

What is left out of any of your observations, is the need for a supporting cast to be up to the merit of playoff games...and football is a situational, at best, event.

To point, trophy case comparisons alone, are a poor reference. What, the Giants will win it all now, because of Eli Manning? That is a direct comparison implied with the stance presented.

As to team in playoff circumstances, perhaps inflate gate passed by without recognition here. Some team do cheat, and with game balls in important playoff conditions.

Tony Romo was slipped a slick ball for what should have been a chip shot field goal and a win.

Just the season before this past season, Tony took the team to what should have been a NFC Championship. It took a gross call against Dez Bryant to keep the Cowboys out of that game. A point in a reception, is that a player must establish himself as a runner. At that point, the ground CAN NOT create a fumble. Period. Dez took two steps with control.

So, if in a discussion, not including all analysis, merely is a dodge of facts that make up a complete picture and a valid discussion. So, coulda, woulda, shoulda is another dodge for discussion.

Oh, I agree that his price tag was much, much higher for Philadelphia...but as the old saying goes, respect is won on the field. So far, Dak is superior and I'm not counting him out, too.

We're both talking about what DID happen. I'm making a distinction between the team and the individual player in an effort to help you understand WHY it happened. Romo's 8 consecutive top 10 seasons in passer rating DID happen. Staubach, Aikman, and Favre combining for 2 playoff wins in 18 seasons without a top 10 defense DID happen.

You don't see any connection between having a complete team and playoff success? Be honest.

I wouldn't bother, he thinks Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson as HOF QBs.

I just dropped Bortles and picked up Dak on a FFL out of New England. My partner up there called me, she said that everyone in her office is laughing at her. I can't wait!
