I am not really sure you have a good basis for the idea that he will never amount to anything. His stats against SEC competition beg to differ with you. 29td -5int at 66% is not too shabby.

I am not against drafting someone next year if he does not look promising this year but I do think you have to at least give the guy a couple of years

I would never pass up a potential elite QB prospect because I was giving Dak s couple years to prove himself. I see Dak as a potential backup only and that expectations should be limited to him being in that role. Anything beyond that is wishful thinking.

His completion percentage is a mirage, most of it was dink and dunk stuff.his best hope it to be our backup to Romo till we find out next franchise QB.

I know from watching Dak at Mississippi State that he is not as accurate as Wilson. Dak compares better to Tebow, but he is more accurate.

Was reading his accuracy is hurt by sloppy footwork. Hopefully with coaching that can be improved

He is going to have s lot of work. His stats look good due to so many short passes, but he gets in trouble when he tries to throw in tight windows like the pro game will require.

I like Prescott in the 4th much more than trading up for Lynch in Round 1.

MSU alum here and I agree. I will say that he is probably the best collegiate football player ever to attend Miss State and was quite the leader for the team. His pocket presence needs some work. Quite a few times he was clobbered because he didn't have the alarm clock in his head.

He did progress in college and I hope he continues in the NFL.

I agree with you and I think most people that knows Dak would agree too. The expectations for him by some of these posters that don't know much about him is unrealistic to say the least:

The one big advantage that Prescott will have is that he can sit on the bench and learn for the next 2-4 years while getting in some occasional experience if/when Tony misses any play time due to injuries. The lack of pressure to be the starter immediately (well, other than by fans who will demand it after every Romo interception) will help reduce the chance of him becoming a bust because he will have time to learn, refine his skills and get used to the speed of the NFL.

well, this is romo. 2-4 years, 2-4 games....either could happen really. :)

Lynch clearly has more talent., I want the best QB possible to fill Romo's place. Dak is not it.

Honestly, there is no way I would trade up for a QB with an 18 wonderlic score. That guy is dumb as dirt.

Dak will be ready to be the starter by the end of the year, middle of next year at the latest, or he'll never amount to much. The idea that an elite quarterback is going to sit on the bench for four years is crazy.
