Rooting for Eagles or Seahawks Next Week?

Now you know the eagles are not losing to the giants or skins. So why even focus on the division?
Because if they lose the next 2 games and we win out we still win it. I do not automatically assign Dallas losses like "realistic" (cough, cough) fans do. I care more about handling our business, than I do what they do. But I want them to lose all 4 games and I think they can lose the next 2 for sure.

We own the head to head tiebreaker with Seattle and although the Seahawks, Lions and Cowboys all have 8-4 records if the playoffs started this Sunday Seattle and Detroit would be the wildcards due to having a better divisional record than the Cowboys. Divisional record is the first tiebreaker.
You have a valid point. I still would not root for the Eagles when there are so many options open to where Detroit doesn't enter the equation. Win the division and tie breakers do not matter anyway.

I'm not rooting for the Eagles I feel the Cowboys best chance of making the playoffs is by winning the division. They're only having to compete with one team to win the division as opposed to contending with several teams for a wildcard birth. The wheels look like they may be about to come off AZ so they may enter the wildcard picture. There's currently 7 NFC teams with 5 losses or less and 4 of those teams have better divisional records than the Cowboys so they need to win the East or they're likely going to be on the outside looking in come playoff time. If the Cowboys beat Chicago and Seattle can beat Philly the Cowboys and Philly will be all square with the division lead on the line in week 14.

That's being greedy. I want to just get in the playoffs. At this point a division title would be a bonus

We need to take care of business this Thursday at Bears, or all these talk will be meaningless.

Am I the only one who would prefer the cowboys to play their 1st playoff game on the road?

8-0 on the road and 0-4 at home.

If we beat the Bears, it's obvious we have to root for the eagles. Two reasons why

1. Giants ain't beating the eagles
2. skins ain't beating the eagles

Win out and it doesnt matter what the Eagles do, we will either win the division or get a wildcard spot. So that's what I'm sticking to, if this team doesn't go 4-0 down this stretch I am not even thinking playoffs.

How Bout if we USE the eagles for one weekend to strengthen our wildcard position?

Does that sound better?

Win your games and it doesnt matter what anybody else does.

That was true prior to Thanksgiving for the Cowboys they were in control of their own destiny but now they need help.

Yup a lot of help too

Arizona has to lose 2 or 3 games
Detroit has to lose 2 or 3 games
Eagles have to lose 2 or lose 3 games
Seahawks have to lose 2 or 3 games

We root against both teams. No matter what happens in that game, it's good for the cowboys. Seattle loses, good for the cowboys bc we'd take the 6th seed.

You better not. I do agree, that the division is more important until it is out of reach, then the wildcard becomes the need.

Very minimal help would be needed though. One loss by either the SEahawks or Lions and both have rough schedules.

It seems most here are rooting for Philly vs Seattle because some gave up on the division weeks ago. Even before the Cowboys played Philly there were many who were pretty much conceding the division to them despite their claims the Eagles are overrated.

True that if the cowboys beat the Bears no matter what happens in the Seattle game the outcome will benefit us in some way.
