You give a good businessman with college ball experience 30 years, anyone is bound to learn something. Jerry's downfall will always be his relationship with head coaches. Either the undermining that a GM who is an Owner can do, Jerry's determination to always find the next young offensive mind that usually backfires, or his loyalty to his troops, including bad assistance coaches who he thinks are head coaching material. No one can deny we have one of the better player personnel records in recent years, but it took a lot of growing pains to get there.

I am complaining about the horrific GM we have, absolutely!!!

Hey, if you're going to complain, own it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I own it alright, and I don’t need 47 exclamation points! My complaint is “life’s too short to spend it complaining!”

Escobar. Jaylon. Mo. Kelvin Joseph. Chaz Green. No Ss or NTs worth a durn. "You don't need a good OL if you have a mobile QB." "Any other GM would've been fired."
Not talking about 10 years ago….you can do this with Howie Roseman as well. He’s missed more fist rounded then he hit.

The RB may have been a late round pick, but he was getting carries instead of the injured 1st round RB they had because they flubbed that pick.

They survived dumping Tyreek, that’s very true, but how much of that was entirely on Pat and Andy? Their WR corps wasn’t strong otherwise, running game wasn’t strong… if they didn’t have Patrick Mahomes, does that team even win 10 games last year? How much credit should Veach get for inheriting a QB someone else drafted? Same question for Gutekunst.
Mahommes is the league alfa. No question. Can probably pull off doing more with less as the title franchise QB calls for. Or in the case of having an elite QB, he can also cover a lot of team warts.
But following KC's loss to Tampa in the SB the entire starting 5 o linemen were replaced. In ONE offseason.
Let that sink in.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and save you the trouble of comparing Dak's need for an allstar oline just to appear competent and Mahommes not needing that kind of support.
Burrows's oline "was" putrid too but again he's slightly better than Dak.
Just slightly.
But still the point here is it was the GM who orchestrated the drafting and FA acquisition of the 5 new o linemen in ONE offseason that no longer resemble turnstiles at pretty much every position.

Think about Jerry (actually McClay, lol) starting over with 5 new olinemen in ONE offseason who had never played together before and Dak Prescott as your QB.

This is why the KC GM is outstanding.
Even while boasting the best QB.

How can the leader of a team that mortgaged their future for years for a one and done SuperBowl be top 6? I thought it was a joke then, and it looks even worse now

Or is the bigger joke on the leader who has 4 playoff wins in 27 years?

Oh yeah, relevance.
Or something like that, lol.

And to add, he built up a D that was 11th in the league, also a major part of the super bowl win. Adding S Justin Reid was huge, as well as draft steals George Karlaftis, CB McDuffie, Pacheco, and several others. The draftees from the Chiefs 2022 class started 61 games. And that's w/ picking late in the draft.

Now do some research on why he missed and why he took certain players. Kelvin and Jaylon weren't 10 years ago.

Why are you so intent on defending a GM who has not only been terrible, but is proud of the fact that he refuses to do the work of a GM?

I’m not I’m just about being honest about the diffusion. Your example of him sucking was a few second rounders and a first round pick of a guy who was picked 11 years ago and Taco who was drafted 6 years ago. Is Jerry the only one who has busts? Mind you Mo didn’t hit his potential but he wasn’t a reach.

We've already gone over this. A GM's job is to build a super bowl contender. Jerry has failed miserably at that, and has admitted so himself.

I don't think I mentioned Taco.

If you read Mo's scouting report and looked past all the hoopla about him, he was a major reach. I don't know what happened to make a CB who wasn't particularly fast or agile a top prospect, but that's not how it works.

It's not about counting busts.

I’ve always said I didn’t like Jerry as a GM, and if I had my druthers…

He’s made tons of mistakes, terrible trades, embarrassing pressers, 27 years of no SB’s, yada yada yada…BUT…if a panel of peers recognize 3 Lombardi’s, the largest fanbase, the most valuable franchise, and the #1 winning percentage of the SB era, among other things, enough to rank him 10th out of 32…

Just because a bunch of fans hate him, doesn’t mean their opinion is the most qualified.
