Roy Williams "sorry" for fourth-quarter drop

I am sorry too Roy......

I am sorry that you suck, I am sorry that we gave up high picks for a JAG like you, and I am sorry that an UFA like Ogletree is more reliable than you.

I don't care care who is #1 or 2 or even #3 all I care about is whoever has a ball placed in their hands in a critical point in the game to just catch the darn pigskin. Is that too much to ask?

Roy Williams "sorry" for fourth-quarter drop

Needing a third-down conversion in the fourth quarter from the Dallas 46, Tony Romo went to Roy Williams on a slant and the wide receiver could not come up with a big catch, forcing a punt.

"I dropped a ball, sorry," Williams said. "I'll make it up this next game. Sorry. Happens sometimes."

Williams is right, drops will happen, but that's a little too nonchalant, isn't it? Williams has dropped a few passes this year, like the big one at Green Bay. I don't know if I wanted to see him beat himself up but I wanted something other than, "Sorry."

"I'm not a guy who loses confidence in my hands or whatever," Williams said. "I feel I still have the best hands in this league. You've got to feel that way. I feel that way. It happens to the best of them."

On the Cowboys' next drive after New Orleans cut the gap to 24-17, Romo faced another critical third-down play from the Dallas 23. He threw another slant. This time it went to Miles Austin and he picked up 32 yards.

Just saying.

:lmao2::lmao:

Bests hands in the league what a joke you're not even top 10. Not even close ****ing clown.

Roy Williams says he's sorry.

He'll get no argument from me!

Ogletree should start.

I think somebody used a "Hands of Stone" cheat card on him from Madden!!!!

Sorry = you can kiss my ***. About time he quits caring what people have to say.

I saw two drops...both pivotal 3rd down plays.

We bailed him out the first time by converting on 4th down...but that doesn't change a thing.

having this guy as the "#2 wr" just makes Romo's season look more and more impressive.

That has got to be his attitude- its just like a CB who just got beaten for a TD. He has to shrug it off and forget about ASAP. Should not say this though- because you get a lot of heat from stupid people.

...demeaning to the posters who have echoed what many others have criticized Roy for not living up to... his contract!
eIn professional sports under performing is not only an embarassing situation to be in, but also potentially devastating when you are constantly given the opportunity over another possible contributor.

Sticking one's head in the sand repeatedly over the same issue doesn't help.

If there is anything Roy needs to do he better figure it out quickly. There's two weeks left in the season and the last glare he received from Romo, although not indicative of his entire relationship with his QB, is one look that could cost him further balls if he isn't able to really step it up.

With consistency comes trust. It's as simple as that in the game of sports. He better steady his nerves and start playing as all expect him to.

I'm not on the dump Roy bandwagon yet, but that sucker is really pushing it with me right now. If the season were to end right now I can't justify his place on the roster if I was the GM. Contract and all. he would be in my mind a GM/Coach killer as you constantly gave him more latitude and leash on the field.

Right now I'd give half of Roy's snaps to Hurd, Ogletree and Crayton. They want it more. I'll give RW his props on downfield blocking, but that's about it at this point. Look at Crayton 2007. 13 starts, 50 catches for 697 yards, 7 tds.

Sorry, Roy, if you're the third option and not better than Crayton in 07, I really don't see what you bring to the table.

Maybe a little uproar will motivate him. Nothing else seems to.

Roy shouldn't even interview and just focus on playing ball...

I'd prefer he do the exact opposite.

He's better at interviewing than he is at playing ball so he might as well go with that.

I don't see anything about his attitude during the games or during plays that indicate he is not giving his all.

This isn't Pee-Wee football so giving it all isn't good enough.

For a $45M player he is all ego and no ability. He is a garbage player and is not working hard enough to improve his routes or hands. He is taking away opportunities from better players than himself and I wish he were gone so the team can get better. Right now I think Crayton and Ogletree are both better options than him.

As for next year, I hope he is released. If he is not released, I hope he actually tries to improve his game because he is not a quality starting WR in the NFL right now and that has nothing to do with an odd drop here or him and Romo not being on the same page. It is that he doesn't know or isn't able to get open consistently when given the opportunity to make a play.

Irvin said in camp that he didn't listen to him when he tried to give him advice, and said 'this is my way'.

Every coach and report has said that he has never dedicated himself to improving his game.

For a guy that ran a 4.4, he looks awfully slow.

He constantly talks out the side of his mouth and he is finally out of excuses.

He is good at only a handful of routes, and his calling card - his hands, are now looking suspect.

It ain't the playbook, it isn't his hurt foot, it isn't Romo throwing better passes to other receivers, it is isn't the lights, it isn't like he's seeing double coverage - Roy you just ****ing suck.

And to think I caught heat all offseason for blasting this loser.

LOL

It would have been nice to see TO and Austin running down each sideline with Witten and Crayton underneath.

We could've seen it last year but Austin ran into some injury problems and then the trade was made and Austin was now #4 on the depth chart.

I'd prefer if he just went up into the booth with Jerry and watched the game and attended the press conferences as Jerry's sidekick.

Leave the football playing to the players who give a **** about winning.

Yep, I was for bringing this guy in but the fact of the matter is that his attitude has brought all this criticism upon himself.

The knock on him in college was he had great ability but was soft. I was glad when he went to Detroit and sorry when he came to the Cowboys.
