Why does Roy Williams get so much love on these boards? Is it because he went to UT or something? IMO he is not a top tier W/R and the guy is always hurt. I'm not saying he is not a good W/R I just don't think he is as good as some people on this board would lead you to believe. If he could manage to stay healthy for a whole season it would elevate his stock IMO.

These folks giving him love are aware of what you are saying. But the guy is an uber talent. And he doesn't even have to be #1 here. If he's what he is now, that would work, at least for now. I think on what would be a MUCH better team here though he'd play like a #1 and we'd have a two headed monster.

Consider that my fault. I shared the fact that he wants to come here and it took off.

Oh, and I could care less where he went to college. It may play a role for some, but it doesn't for me.

Oh yeah well what if he went to U of A?..:D

BTW just giving you a hard time. It is good to see another Pac-10 guy that is not a U$C "fan".

No, the U of A would not matter. For me it is entirely about opportunity meets need. I don't care if it is Williams, Boldin, Johnson, Smith, or Holt. I am just on board with Williams because I know for a fact he wants to come here, has told his agent to get him here, and the deal makes sense for the Lions, Cowboys and Williams. Simply a case of the pieces fitting.

Who do you pull for in the Pac-10? Please don't say ASU.

Don't give yourself too much credit

He's been talked about off and on for some time before you stated that. It had been tossed around other places before that anyway.

At this point, he's the only option that might shake loose next year that would be a legitimate upgrade to the receiving corps immediately. A draft pick would likely take some time.

I'm sure he get some love around here because he is a Longhorn. If anything though, that should prevent the team from looking at him. :laugh2:

Personally, I think he wants a CB in the deal and until Adam Jones is reinstated I don't think Jerry is very inclined to listen.

JMO.
is he a free agent next year or a restricted free agent next year? also can he deny a trade to a certain team?

Williams would be an Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of 2008. He can decide he won't do a long term deal which means any team trading for him would lose him at the end of 2008 just like the Lions. He would work harder for a deal to come here than anywhere else. Any other team and he will demand top WR money.

Saying it is partly my fault is taking blame, not giving myself credit.

Welll I'm down with getting Roy Williams but that would mean somebody important on our current squad wont be here anymore. But It would be worth it.

Why would we want guys like Mike and Roy Williams when Furrey and Shaun "lil" MacDonald flat out beat them out.

And you bring Roy Williams in what do you do with Amendola?

I would attempt to explain it to you, but it has to do with football. That means I know you wouldn't get it, and I'd hate to waste my precious Saturday time. You could try asking me again on a Wednesday. I feel more charitable in the middle of the week.

Moss was all but "washed up" in Oakland. With a real QB and a solid offensive system he broke records left and right.

I wouldn't right Roy Williams off as second tier just yet.

All write. :p:

EXACTLY -before it was Mike Williams, Roy Williams is such a JAG - no one is franchising a guy stuck behind Shaun McDonald and Furrey in Detroit.

People go gaga over pedigre sometimes. They don't like to hear that but its the truth.

ESPN's Lions depth chart.

NFL.com's Lions depth chart.

CBS Sportline's Lions depth chart.

detroitlions.com doesn't have a depth chart or I am pretty sure that one would sink your stupid agenda too.
