Roy Williams - WR

People go gaga over pedigre sometimes. They don't like to hear that but its the truth.

Nors are you off the meds again? McD and Furrey have NEVER been ahead of Williams he has started every game in front of them

Are you seriously comparing Mike Williams to Roy Williams??

Mike Williams has 44 catches for his career and 2 TDs.

Roy has 200 more catches and has caught 2 TDs or more in 6 different games in his career.

some people here have a real distorted view on just how good #11 is.

comparing him to the likes of Shaun McDonald and Danny Amendola?

Are you kidding me?

The minute that guy leaves Detroit, he'll become twice the WR he's been, and he's been a damn good one already.

Roy Williams is the surest thing we can go after and reasonably expect to get without it costing an arm a leg and several Cheerleaders.

Roy is not as good at TO or Moss or Harrison, but I would put him maybe in the second Tier.

Burm, I think he COULD be in that first tier, if he could ever get past all the minor injuries that slow him down...

That is, of course, a big "if"... but I'm sure I don't have to tell you guys that I'm a big Roy fan...

Why does Roy Williams get so much love on these boards? Is it because he went to UT or something?

Is that why you're raggin' on him??

IMO he is not a top tier W/R

245 catches in 55 games, while averaging almost 15 yards a catch, is actually pretty good... especially considering the offense he's operating in...

The key there is the 15 yards per catch; Roy isn't catching a lot of dumpoff passes, he's working downfield... but the Cowboys don't have any need for somebody who can stretch the field in the passing game...

He's also just 26 years old, and his best is ahead of him...

and the guy is always hurt.

Exaggerate much?? He's missed a total of 9 games in 4 years... in 06, he played all 16 games...

If he could manage to stay healthy for a whole season it would elevate his stock IMO.

Well, that at least is a legitimate criticism...

I would attempt to explain it to you, but it has to do with football. That means I know you wouldn't get it, and I'd hate to waste my precious Saturday time. You could try asking me again on a Wednesday. I feel more charitable in the middle of the week.

Oh, snap...

EXACTLY -before it was Mike Williams, Roy Williams is such a JAG -

Only you would call a guy who has averaged 70 catches for every 16 games played in his first four seasons a "JAG"...

And that is, of course, why you're considered a joke...

no one is franchising a guy stuck behind Shaun McDonald and Furrey in Detroit.

See, this shows EXACTLY what I'm talking about; McDonald and Furrey are two VERY different receivers, basically they work underneath... McDonald has averaged 11.7 yards per catch over his career, Furrey has averaged 10.8...

Roy has averaged 14.9...

Furrey has 7 whole TDs in 69 games played, McDonald has 10 in 72... Roy has 28 in 55 games played...

Since you're clearly clueless when it comes to football, permit me to tell you what that means-- Furrey and McDonald catch dumpoff passes, and little else, while Roy is a downfield, home run threat...

What the Cowboys need is somebody who can stretch a defense, and that's where Roy is most effective...

People go gaga over pedigre sometimes. They don't like to hear that but its the truth.

Some things never change-- the sky is blue, water's wet, and Nors will ALWAYS be clueless...

You might be better off becoming a fan of another sport, I'm thinking ping-pong might be simple enough for you to grasp the finer points of the game... obviously, football is a wee bit beyond you...

ESPN's Lions depth chart.

NFL.com's Lions depth chart.

CBS Sportline's Lions depth chart.

detroitlions.com doesn't have a depth chart or I am pretty sure that one would sink your stupid agenda too.

Go easy on him, Hos, the poor schlub doesn't even understand the difference between a possession receiver and a lead receiver...

Just wow.......

Hopefully the Lions will lose their first 4 games and we can pull off a trade similar to Chris Chambers to the Chargers last year..... That would be sweet... Either way, hopefully by this time next year, Roy will be back home...

He will be a cowboy next year. I'd bet big money on it.

I doubt it. But if he is it's because the stockpile of our young talent flopped.
I think we've got some real players in our young WRs.

His whole behind them crap has to do with receptions. Furrey had more in 2006 than RW. McDonald more in 2007. Of course he completely ignores the fact that Calvin Johnson replaced Furrey not RW and that RW's 2007 stats are for 11 games, not 16 as McDonalds are and that when he was injured he was ahead of McDonald in receptions and had he played the 5 more games would have still been ahead of him.

Forget logic and every other stat. Like the fact that in 2006 Williams was way ahead of Furrey in yards, ypc, and scores. Notice he doesn't say Calvin Johnson is behind McDonald even though McDonald's stats were way ahead of Johnson's because of injuries.

Selective trolling. It will cost him. His choice.
