And Troy, Dilfer, and Irvin, but what do they know?

Have Troy and Irvin said that this year? And as far as Trent goes, he's seen the Cowboys play how many times this year? He's a analyst. He sees highlights. If a scout or the Cowboys tell me Roy runs bad routes i'll believe it. But with my own two eyes I haven't seen bad route running. Especially nothing to where he should be overthrown and underthrown .

So who starts opposite Austin?

And I'll have some serious lulz if you say Olgetree.

Ogletree isn't ready but we should start playing him more so he can develop. He should be playing alot whenever we have the lead to get him ready for some primetime action.

Right now I'd take Crayton or Hurd over Roy - at least they know the offense and the route adjustments.

I can see Roy's lack of understanding of the offense leading to some turnovers against pressure defenses like the Eagles'.

Why do you think Roy is so smart. His Wonderlic is 17 or 18 which is far from spectacular. I will grant that the inteilligence required to play football well may not be captured well by the Wonderlic but there is probably some reason that the pro personnel departments who run the draft continue to use it.

Oh no. Not the wonderlic argument again.

BTW, Dan Marino scored a 16 on his Wonderlic.

I believe 17-18 is right above the average score for a wr in the nfl.

(edit- 17 is the average for wrs)

And it does show up in his work as an analyst.

Marino did have football smarts which I suggested may not be measured well by the Wonderlic.

Yes, the average WR in the NFL is not very bright.

Someone once put up a wonderlic sample test here for a bunch of us on the board to try. From what I recall, most of us scored in the mid-40s and quite a few got a perfect score.

Pretty sure Troy said this year that he's running good routes and worked very hard this offseason.

But yeah, what does Troy know?

Roy's also got the least amount of time working with Tony in this offense. It's the nature of the beast. Option routes take familiarity between the QB and WR, and execution DURING THE GAMES.

I'm not sure - Roy being on the first team for a year, might have had more practice time with Tony than Hurd or maybe even Austin. I think that I've heard that Roy catches everything in practice, but maybe that's not so true.

I don't think the issue has been catching catchable balls as much as it seems those two can't get their timing down in real-life game situations and it often looks like they are not on the same page in terms of adjustments.

Dude, you've gotta change your screenname.

It's one thing to misspell a word in a post. It's another to misspell a word in a thread title. And it's a whole different animal to misspell your own screenname.
:laugh1:

If you read his posts... I don't think he misspelled it.

Did he drop any today?

I don't think he runs good routes. You do. Ultimately I'm not too worried about it, because our offense is performing well without him.

Roy Williams is losing me. :(
Yeah, well Wade lost you and the defense is playing very well and we're 5-2, so.........maybe that's a good thing.

Wade is a chump. We've been on a role since the players took over in KC. Maybe that was Mr. Fix-It's master plan all along? Be so inept as a leader of men that his players would take over and he could play defensive coordinator?

I don't know. I'm not a scientistss.
