Rumor about Rice and Pierre signing with Dallas

Ray Rice would bring a distraction and PR nightmare like nothing we've seen in Dallas. He could fracture the locker room and the criticism the signing would undoubtedly bring especially after adding Hardy isn't worth the headache. Signing him would be a huge mistake can't see the Cowboys going near him. The poster boy for domestic violence isn't what we want representing the Dallas Cowboys.

All that aside, He's really average to what we have in the stable already. Check his film in the SB. Missed assignments, fumbles, he looked lost in that game and other games before that, average tail back at best.

Let's test Pierre Thomas.

Maybe he can be our Frenchise RB.

A couple of years ago I thought he was one of the better backs in the league. I thought the Texans were going to snatch him up a couple of weeks ago but turned him down so there's something they didn't like. I wonder if the NO and DC FO's got together and found a significant flaw in his game or something off field they could not deal with?

He can still be a nice complimentary piece for any offense, especially one that passes to the backs. He will not be in high demand, though, because of his age. He will probably get a call after the first week of the season if not in the next two weeks.

Anyone opposed to grabbing Zac Stacy once Jets drop him? Hes a powerhouse.

Opposed but I would trade for Chris Ivory of the Jets in a heartbeat if DMC and JoRan are still on the injured list in another 2 weeks.

Thing is.. McFadden is great at pass blocking and receiving and he is already on the roster.

Joe Randle knows the offense and has fresh legs.

We are fine at RB.. I worry about injuries but if we're healthy we'll have guys that can run through holes.

Im starting to think the standard here may be a little ridiculous because we saw a guy the other night get a first down when hit in the backfield, run through 2 guys for a TD, and really had no space to get through the entire game.

I agree. If Dallas calls Pierre at all, it will be because one of the backs (my money is on McFadden) is unable to shake the injury bug.

Yes, he's the full package (blocking, catching, running, protecting the ball). He may have lost a half a step but I really liked watching him play. And your right, he will get called up when backs start getting nicked up.

There's really no positives to bringing Rice in nothing but negatives. He hasn't played a regular season game since the 2013 season. We're less than a month from the opener and he's been doing nothing but sitting around collecting rust sulking over his tainted image. A declining back who's been out of the loop for as long as he has is highly unlikely to make anyone's team at this point. With all he's been through who knows where his ****ed up head is at. We're less than a month from the start of the regular season and all Rice would bring to a team is a huge distraction. No organization is going to want to deal with the public outcry adding him to their roster would bring especially with the season opener just around the corner. No one is going to want the focus going from preparing their team for the opener to having to stand around answering questions about Ray Rice all day.

Ivory is going to be the Jets workhorse back this year. What makes you think this is even remotely possible?

The same reason some people think Lamar Miller can be had in trade.

Sorry if that was insinuated we might get Ivory. I haven't heard anything to this but was just sayin if he wants a Jets RB, Ivory is the guy to get. He's a beast.

You want this guy?

Watch video again.

Ray Rice may or may not make us a better team but even the Dallas Cowboys cannot handle that backlash. Signing Greg Hardy can be seen as giving a player a "second chance". Signing Ray Rice would make us look like the "pro domestic violence team". We will see immense media backlash as well as boycotts.

This isn't a comment on the innocense of either player but a comment on the PR move related to a Ray Rice signing.

NOT innocent.

I am counting on both DMC and Randle to be unavailable during the season. And probably at the same time for a span of games....

If we are going RBBC, were going to need a few more. Send them back and forth from the PS. Trust me, no one is going to be "snatching them up"..... maybe Randle? But I am thinking not. We have a stable of RBs no other teams want. That should tell you something.

I agree with you there. Ivory is set to have a pretty good year in NY. he isn't going anywhere.

2 years of tread for a RB in this league is a long time, though. Look at Ray Rice. Just a few years ago, he was one of the better backs in the league. Then he sharply declined.

I think if Dallas wanted CJ, Rice or Thomas they would be in camp already. I think Dallas will either go with what we have? a player they like in the cut downs or via trade.
