Rumor: Isiah Stanback practicing at CB now?

I miss Stanback threads.
He plays on the scouting team
but seldom makes news.

A few people here give Stanback no more credit than they gave Romo before he was elevated - or Patrick Crayton.

No patience = no smarts.

:)

...now?

Is he healthy? One would hope that a kid with high end physical skills could find a position on the special teams with his speed.

It's disconcerting that a mid round pick with good physicals can't find the squad on special teams.

If true, then exactly.

I hate it when they do this w/ converted college qbs. Decide on a position for them to play and stick w/ it. This constant switching from position to position only retards their development.

:bang2:

Exactly, CBs rely on instincts way too much for him to make that switch. Qbs do good moving to WR because if you understand route running, and have decent hands, that's all you need to be decent. RB is possible as well as TE, but most QBs don't have prototypical size for either position.

Now please excuse me while I create a new thread on how I saw Newman running some pass routes with the WRs. Obviously, that indicates that the coaching staff thinks he'll never make it as a corner.

Newman is practicing at receiver?

Maybe Reeves is looking so good they can move Newman over to make up for Stanback being a bust!

:D

well sucks..Stanback looks like He has great speed and agility. You can tell when someone has it or they dont, and He looked like He did.

CB???...I guess, I'm not a coach so what ever they think is best.

Who believes and reads this crap on a stupid message board anyway.. I mean those guys, WHEW.... They are loooooooooooooserrrrrrsssssssssss..... I mean really those guys need a life....:lmao2:

Actually, their site is riddled with dim witted football guys (and gals). It's amazing how much more knowledge and various opinions that you'll find here rather than on the official site.

It seems like Dallas recruited a bunch of idiots to their message board.

I've got patience... plenty of it. Particularly for the Romos and Craytons of the league. But I will go out on a limb and say that Stanback is no cornerback.

When was the last time you saw a quarterback converted into a corner back?

That just doesn't happen at this level.

arent practices closed to the general pubic?? i mean they are to the media as well right?

It was probably for the scout team, or someone would've asked about it at a press conference.

There is nothing wrong with Stanback if he goes both ways

The Pats had a player, Troy Brown?, that was successful for them as WR and CB....

so I say... why not see what works best for this kid.

I didn't know dc.com had a messageboard. It's kind of crappy. They should make this the "official" board. Make it happen Jerry.

:D

the Cowboys actually already tried to do that

Reality said no, for good reason

I want to know why he hasn't been on the field, at some position consistently. It can't be from lack of knowledge as he hit the books hard during TC, right? What happened to our athletic prodigy? He should at the very least return punts/kickoffs. How hard is that................

Or you could go with a simpler explanation -- that he's not ready to play WR at this level, something that was absolutely expected when he was drafted -- and since he isn't ready to play WR then he isn't active on gameday as that would take the spot of someone like Miles Austin who returns KOs, plays a big role on coverage teams, and can play WR in a pinch.

Are people on this board so blind that they can't see that a player who is a) making a positions change and b) missed most of TC with an injury and c) was drafted as a DEVELOPMENTAL player, should not be expected to contribute at this point of the season? Really now, is it that hard to understand this?
