With Amendola and Bowman on board, it might be time to churn the bottom of the WR roster -- i.e., Miles and Hurd.

I think Austin is long gone, but I think thet love Hurd. I think Bowman probably makes the roster but Amendola will need to show a lot in camp to make it... or we could ditch Terry Glenn.

Its going to be tough for him to make the team.

Knocking off Sam Hurd is going to be tough because Hurd is such a phenominal Special teams player.

Miles Austin is gone either way and I think we will carry less receivers this year and more Corners.

Owens

Glenn

Crayton

Hurd

Stanback

Good luck breaking in to that line up.

That draft was littered with busts too. I remember Fred Barnett had a few good years and that may be the draft that McCardell was taken in the last round.

Ricky Proehl was one of the few who had a decent career. The draft was 12 rd at that time. I guess what they were referring to was 1st time a WR has not been selected in the 1st rd since the NFL went to 7 rds.

Hurd is okay at special teams. He did have that big play in the Bills game, but other than that, what has he done? Our coverage teams have been terrible. And as for actually being a WR, Hurd ... well ... sucks.

Got a lot of questions re Bowman including his eyesight & motivation, etc. Wouldn't bet on him making the team but he sure a high rounder couple of months ago. When Huddle Report did an anlysis of him, they still believe his eyes are giving him problems which why he continues to have trouble catching the ball.

From a talent perspective we got arguably the best WR in this draft, and it did not cost a pick.

I was just continuing to compare it to this draft. Both were very weak for wr. The 1990 proved to be really thin and didn't produce many wrs, I wonder how this one pans out.

Yeah , we have lost Reeves, Jones and Davis and can't really afford getting rid of Hurd. I am a bit concerned about our coverage units at this point in time. Looking at the toughness of Amendola he could be a great guy on coverage units.

He hasn't gotten a lot of opportunities, and when he's on the field, he's usually the last read after T.O., Witten, Crayton, and Barber/Jones.

Don't forget he's also a 3 year vet and is only 22 years old.

I don't see how a guy that caught 62% of his passes targeted has a problem catching the ball. That's a good number for a college receiver.

Hard to tell. I think many of these guys were highly thought of heading into the season and just fell off the charts. I would have to think this group will fare better than the 1990 group of WR.

What a horrible evaluation of Sam Hurd.

Watching that video, I never saw a DB catch him. Either they played some slow teams or he plays much faster than he times.

At the end he makes that one handed "TO" catch :D

Has this been confirmed? Is there a link? I read somewhere else that Philly signed him.

He was on the field quite a bit. And only average about a catch per game. The TO and Witten excuse doesn't fly. Tony, for the most part, gets the ball to whoever is open. And playing with TO and Witten means he never faced double coverage. If he can't get open in single coverage, blech.

Romo doesn't force the ball to his favorite targets? You sure about that?

Not to the point where it excuses a 3rd receiver from having only 1 catch per game.

No more than any other QB. Romo does a good job of looking for the open man and buying time and frankly with TO drawing double the other WR should be getting open more often than they did. I like Hurd but his production is not going to cut it he needs to elevate his game this coming season
