Yep. Brad said he spoke to a teammate and the teammate said that Randy was very angry about how the media is reporting what ACTUALLY happened. Doesn't sound as simple as failing a drug test. Must be some "minor" requirement that wasn't met.
I sure hope that's the case. Nothing would surprise me.

If he failed a test then the meeting wouldn’t have been a scheduled meeting. There maybe something to this but it’s not drug related. And if he is suspended for 1 game that happens to be against goodell best friends team then I am convinced that goodell is dirty.
We will eventually learn whatever is behind all this nonsense.

Mike Fisher indicated on the pre-game show that it could be related to Randy Gregory trashing how the NFL handles mental illness during off the record comments to some media during training camp that nonetheless got reported.

We really shouldn’t be surprised.

If this is the case then my expectations for the defense has been lessened.

Per Brad Sham on pre-game radio, as relayed by a defensive teammate, Randy Gregory is very angry how the media has twisted the report of his being in trouble with the NFL.

He can be angry all he wants but he really doesn't have too many rights at this point. Not much wiggle room to have any kind of an issue. I wonder if he is even allow to have a beer/get drunk? Maybe he got drunk. That's what I am hoping.

http://larrybrownsports.com/football/randy-gregory-could-reportedly-be-suspended-for-relapse/463241

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory recently met with an NFL doctor and was ruled eligible to play in Week 1, but he may be in trouble going forward.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Gregory suffered a relapse last month and is once again under investigation for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. A ruling could come as early as this week, and the former Nebraska star may wind up suspended again.

There was a belief the NFL would make a ruling on Gregory prior to Week 1, but league officials are still reviewing the case and taking the steps Gregory has made since his relapse into consideration. As Schefter notes, the NFL has made an effort recently to focus on treatment and recovery rather than disciplinary action, though Gregory is a repeat offender.

Gregory has violated the NFL’s substance abuse policy multiple times and was suspended for the entire 2017 season. His history of getting into trouble off the field dates back to before the Cowboys drafted him in the second round.

Of course money’s the main thing, but they still play their little games, there’s still big egos clashing, and don’t even try to makes us swallow the notion that they DON’T resent the Cowboys and LOVE to stick it to Booger. We’re a target, for God’s sake!

Businessmen are successful because they can lay aside petty, emotional squabbles like what you describe. Think back to the Dez no-catch. Mara was all for changing the rule when it happened and championed the cause until it got changed. If he was all for "screwing the Cowboys," why wouldn't he just be mum on the issue and just say rules are rules? You're going to say he was acting, right? He probably believed it was good for the game in general, i.e., his pockets, if that rule could be cleared up to relieve fan frustration (fans who don't understand the rules, mind you, but still). As for being a target, that's what every fan of a team that's lacked success for a prolonged period would say. "We can't win because forces of evil won't let us." It's excuse-making for not wanting to accept that you don't back a winner and are afraid of being teased about it, plain and simple.

I swear I'm starting to wish the NFL would just have Madden play these games so that we don't have to rely on flaky players. Apologies to Gregory if this turns out to be untrue.

I hope that's what it is because I can get behind Gregory on that.

This could be it for Gregory. Today could be the last game of his NFL career.

I’d like to think if it was a failed test in August. The decision of whether or not he can play would’ve been made by now.

Afraid of being teased about it?!? That’s freakin’ hilarious! Whether or not my favorite football team is successful has absolutely NOTHING to do with my self worth, real OR imagined.

That said, I’m STILL a fan of America’s Team! Despite the fact that it’s been 23 years since their last Super Bowl, the Cowboys remain the most popular, discussed, analyzed, valuable, etc., etc.

If he smoked in August, why the need to investigate...

Shefter works for ESPN ... maybe he needs to get lucky with a tweet, he might be worried about job security...
