We need to draft big T'Vondre Sweat in next year's draft, the 6'4 362 lb Big 12 DPOY and Outland Trophy Winner out of Texas. That's who we should've waited to drafted anyways over Mazi. A true 4-Tech and game-wrecker in the middle.

He won't be there when Dallas is on the board. They would have to trade up to get him and they won't because they have no 4th, 5th or 6th round picks. But we may see a DT in te e2nd or 3rd round. Justin Madubuike was takin in the 3rd round by the Ravens and he is playing great football for the Ravens.

tons of blame for the whole staff as well including mm whose the head coach but I do wish people go after DQ as well when they mention coaching mistakes. He far too often gets a pass Imo and I understand the rational because statistically the defense appears dominant.

Stylistically however from those who watch our games week in and week out for 3 years now know he’s definitely not above criticism even though I still like him overall

We can get the beefiest DT's in the world but it won't matter if we keep playing 205 pound safeties at LB (hello Markquese Bell) and have players in position to make the tackles miss (hello Jayron Kearse) or take horrible pursuit angles and blow gap responsibilities (insert every other defensive player here).

This has been Quinns MO
You can run on his defense
This is exactly why the niners have beaten us repeatedly and this guy has learned nothing from the beatings

And then playing Parsons at DE and undisciplined DEs crashing in and not filling lanes

its not broken

you kinda need Hankins in the middle
We had Hankins in the middle against Arizona and San Francisco. However, without him today, it really showed and it also showed that Mazi isn’t the answer. The more snaps he has the worse we are.

Every team's defense is one missed tackle away from being broke. Even the good ones.
Don't read too much into this game.

The scheme is wack. You cant “load” the box with 7 guys when 5 are essentially down linemen and the only guy in the middle at the second level is a 220 lb hybrid S/LB. Its too easy to attack the middle of that alignment.
That is it right there. We have nothing on the outside to take on block when they go off tackle . We are completely overmatched out there

This has--and will continue to be--our achilles heel and the reason this team cannot win a super bowl. Let's be honest; we've all been watching every game praying that every team chooses to pass, rather than run. Because when they run, and really commit to it, we cannot stop them. It's the reason why this season, fun as it has been, will inevitably end in failure. At some point, we'll face the Niners and they will obliterate us with the run. Like they always have.

It's obvious Hankins is second most important player on defense. Before we got him, our run defense routinely looked like the one today.
Even with him playing, it sucks at times but much less frequent with him in the line up.

It’s not Hankins. We’re a front running defense built to play with a lead. If teams decide they want to run the ball down our throats there is nothing we can do unless Quinn loads up to stop it and he doesn’t.

I’ve been clamoring for LB’s for years and everyone always says DT. LB’s make tackles folks. Not hybrid safeties

Look at the common games our d hasn’t played well last couple years. Against the Jaguars last year… 49ers.. Seahawks and now today.

Teams that neutralize our pass rush by running the ball or getting the ball out quickly beat us. We don’t handle motion well either.

Quinn doesn’t adjust. He’s far more overrated than I think ppl think.

Dallas has had finesse linebackers for a while now. Sean Lee, Hitchens weren’t but one was made of glass and the other was limited but solid.
Quinn seems to like the faster smaller linebackers and to date none can play physical. Didn’t help they had Bell at LB as a smaller safety either.
Of course finding that 3 down physical linebacker ain’t easy

Go look at the run defense before we got Hankins. Any average running team were able to run on us. With him, at least we can stop the average running teams on early downs which allows us to do rush the passer more often. Unfortunately, we can't stop above average running teams even with him.

AZ ran for over 200 yards, did Hankins play in that game?

LVE? Please.

Damone Clark is just the latest in the line of Jaylon, LVE, Bradie James, Bruce Carter of suck.

LB has taken over as the position that the Cowboys can’t draft.

DT is a close second.

Agree, wolfhound or whatever the name was, is not the answer and wasn’t playing the greatest before the injury. We went the cheap route with him. Hennessy has been called him out years ago.
