Running back candidates

Thomas is not quick enough going to the line to offset his overall lack of speed. He was a very good college back, but he's not an upgrade over what is already on the roster.

Sign one not named Felix and let's roll. Been there done that. It doesn't hurt signing one more, we get to see an interesting battle between unknowns. I'm pretty sure we do have a plan B if this project does not pan out (A.Peterson?K.Davis?) But in the mean time, it'll be fun. Hoping one of them turns to be better than expected.

Clearly, this is all a part of the plan.

Tate, Felix Jones, now Thomas.

All part of the plan to either make the Vikings management, or Peterson himself, nervous, and start the master plan rolling.

Depends on who you talk to, of course.

I actually think I agree with this. It sure is fishy. None of these 3 are better than Randle or McFadden.

This is something you do in week 5 when your starter goes down.

And I love how some on here say we are not desperate

Have we looked at other positions as well? Are we desperate there as well? Why didn't we just sign a bunch of UDFA RBs as well as invite some FAs in here? We must be desperate at OL and WR as well as LB since we are stockpiling them.

Churning and looking to churn the roster is an unending process year long.

Maybe they are hedging their bets on McF, Randle and Dunbar being successful and/or unhealthy. That's not being desperate but responsible. You hope for the best and plan on the worst.

Right now if wind blows and grass grows X RB is just around the corner.

Love the whinefest around here. Who cares who the Cowboys work out?

Come first game they'll be fine at RB. Relax

It's not so much who they are working out for me... as it is who they are not working out. No CJ2K (already said my feelings on him), no Moreno (really good 2 years ago (almost 1,600 total yards), and probably would have been good last year if not for getting hurt), no Bradshaw (has looked good the past 2 years when healthy, and was really good 3 years ago) there are potentially good players out there... why work out the trash.

Who's next? Frenchie Thomas? This is crazy. I believe Dal will add another back when Camp cuts start, but the best available is not out there right now.

Yes he is. The Vikings just have to send him here . . .

All this stupidity could have been stopped in the 4th round........

th

Lol nobody wanted that soft Euro in the backfield.

We need an American RB!

The scouts and coaches may know something about the players you mentioned that fans don't.

The offseason overreaction has reached critical mass I see. Bringing in guys for a workout absolutely nobody else wants somehow equates to them being the RB they pin their hopes on? Working them out somehow is baiting the Vikings or even AP into saying "Yup, we better make our move"? How exactly can anyone look at this news and sincerely come to these extremely irrational, illogical conclusions? The extremely easy to see, logical reason for this is staring you all in the face. Put the tinfoil down and actually think.

It would really be cute if Jerry reunited Felix and McFadden eight years later, wouldn't it?

CJ2K... seriously Joneses... the guy has only had 1 season where he had less than 1,400 total yards and that was only because he was used in a limited capacity last year. Yea I know he isn't the 2,000 yard back he once was... but he did help the Jets to have the #3 rushing attack last year. Just get it done.

I don't see why he's not one of the backs being worked out, or should be worked out within the next days

Hey..

It's like the pre-draft invitations..

If you don't get invited..you probably aren't worth a look.

I have no problem with this.

Our offensive backfield is clearly not set yet.

And who knows..taking one of these guys if only for preseason to let McFadden save the hits for the season makes big sence.

I clearly think Dunbar is not going to stay and there is no room for a special type RB like him that isn't a blocking back, isn't short yardage and isn't ST material, either.

Come on guys. They clearly get as bored in the offseason as we do. One way to keep busy.
