Running back candidates

Then the shills can go play with their RBBC toys in a corner while the rest of us gear up for a major Super Bowl run with AP on deck.

Yeah it amazing how these fans actually like this approach. They treat draft picks like gold, which is proven to be a crapshoot anyways.

Get the proven stud and lets go tear this league up. No one cares about a player picked 28th overall who MIGHT contribute in 3 years

Have fun with that first rounder who may or not be a decent player. Ill take the future hall of famer that still is a top 3 back in the NFL.

Our last first rounders have been: Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith, Mo Claiborne, Travis Frederick and Zach Martin. Other than Mo Claiborne, each one of those picks have been instrumental at getting us where we are at. Sorry but I take everyone of them before a 30 year old back. Every single day and twice on Sundays.

Teams are build through the draft not by trading premium picks for 30 year old players. This is a young man's game, especially at RB.

AP is another breed.

I a gut feeling that Randle, McFadden and Ryan Williams are these Cowboys versions of Derrick Lassic and Sherman Williams

Well that is what you have seen before so that is not surprising but neither of those guys really are comparable to what we have now. I don't know why Lacewell's screwups mean that we are destined to fail again.

In other news for the people on the AP bandwagon he is rejecting OTA's. Have to wonder at what point they decide they don't want to pay him $13m. He is not exactly setting a good example for the lockerroom.

AP is a 30 year old back with only a couple more years left. You don't give up a premium pick for an aging back and then pay him premium money.

Funny how Tony only has two more years of NFL vitality left. Funny how that matches up huh?

Here's the thing- all the other rumored teams that had interest in him drafted a RB. Take our second rounder or take on AD's huge, disgruntled, locker room distraction salary? I know what I would do.

I'm all for trading for him, heck I'd give next yrs 1st to get him alongwith players (Randle, Leary, etc.). Like Herm Edwards said on first take a week or so ago if we get AP it's unfair to the rest of the NFC after what we pulled in the draft as well as free agency.

He's skipping ota's. End of the world as we know. Let's see if he actually skips regular season games when actual game checks count.

Except that is not true. QBs tend to last a lot longer than RBs in this league. There is a lot of evidence showing that. You think Romo will only last two years but, behind this line, there is a good chance he lasts much longer. Even if he didn't, guess what? There is life after Romo. The better team we have to put around our next QB, the more chance he succeeds. You don't do that by giving away premium draft picks for a 30 year old RB.
