Funny you mention that! I was doing some reasearch earlier regarding the whole Ratliff situation. AP surely could go that route. Perhaps one of those nagging injuries becomes a little more bothersome than normal.

I mean...its kind of a lame move, but he sure could pull that and make things irratating there. Legally, im sure they could sue AP by basically arguing that all MRI's and xrays came back negative.

It would hard to prove. MRIs and Xrays can be interpreted differently, especially since he had previous injuries.

Why go through all that just out of spite? If you don't want him just let him go. The trading window is closed after no one offered any picks this year.

This is ignored more than 1 Techs in a Marinelli defense. Every Vikings fan in the world is clinging to the play for us or don't get paid stance and completely leaving out what I think is a highly probable outcome if this continues into the season.

If MINN wants to play hardball it can get real ugly

He can show up to every practice and just go through the motions

Look out if he fumbles at the wrong time

This will go over like a lead brick... Shades of Ratliff.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says Adrian Peterson has two choices: He can either play for the Vikings or he cannot play at all.

The star running back has missed the first two days of optional team practices and is not expected to attend any of the optional workouts this summer. He has been upset with the team for a perceived lack of support while he faced a child abuse charge last season and his representatives have said he should play elsewhere next season.

Zimmer said Wednesday that Peterson ''is not going to play for anybody else and that's just the way it is.''

Peterson is not required to show up until a mandatory minicamp on June 16.

This should drive the final nail in the coffin for all you that are still hoping for AP.

Looks like the team is already getting irritated. Spite does not make smart roster decisions.

MINN walked away from Peterson last year and they should just walk away again.

Making threats will not help the situation.

Public posturing like that tells me that he is not as secure as they want us to believe. If he wanted to talk to AP he can pick up a phone. Going through the media indicates they are talking to other people as well.

The fines are fixed amounts and even if they get him for $3m in fines, he is still making $10m which becomes fully guaranteed the Friday before the first game. They also have a young QB going into his second year and a very young roster. Role modeling works many ways. He is setting the example of wanting to be out of Minnesota and that the front office is undesirable to play for. He makes a decent martyr for that locker room.

I've just thought from the beginning that the Vikings are not in a very good spot. Regardless of how you feel about how he disciplines his kid, the way that the Vikings handled it treating him like a pariah leaves him with credibility in the locker room if he decides to be upset about it. Trust and respect are real concepts to some people.

The story is not hard: they will turn on you at the first hint of trouble and will not give you the benefit of the doubt as the banish you. They will not go to bat for you. Instead I had to go to bat in court against them and won. Now they are going this way and treating me like meat. I am Adrian Peterson, what do you think they are going to do to you.

Now that he is not going to OTA's the drama increases. Things are looking worse for the Vikes but they aren't going to be forced to do anything until that contract is guaranteed.

I have a front row seat for this one and I am not giving it up for anyone.:dance:

Would love to hear your rationale behind that. From my perspective, it carefully preserves the integrity of the coffin to keep it accessible for many weeks to come.

My rational is simple.
Look at the reality of the situation and don't read into something that is not there.

Joseph Randle = T Choice. Good stats in a limited role but will never be a starter.
