OK...now I'm really honored...slammed by Woodysgirl....I've made it!!!LOL

I was just joshin you...

I'd rather have someone start a thread (and post) things that I don't necessarily see happening than not start a thread (or post) at all.

All reasonable C-boys views accepted on this board...

Hell, I didn't think anyone would notice my comment...Duckett huh....hmmm....would that make Polite expendable? Or will he make the team anyway?

I'd guess a 4th or 5th rounder....his injury history would come in question.

You may be right that could be all that anyone at this time would offer and that is not worth doing. As I said I don't think Jones is going to get traded but again at the right price almost every guy can be traded.

They like me...they really like me....the scary part is that nothing shocks me anymore. After the TO acquisition, what's next? Emmitt comes back from retirement to solve our RB problems or Nate gives up the Twinkie diet and comes back for one more year...

Simple question...mid way through the season...who will be the go to guy? MBIII or JJ?

The one that Parcells chooses?

Just a guess...

You want a simple answer to a difficult question. I think playing time will be dictated by productions. I could see Barber getting more carries within a game if he is having a very good game but I think Jones is the starter for the most part.

Intelligent and well stated. ...but i do disagree. I believe that MBIII will move ahead of JJ by midseason. And this thread is no more idiotic than changing your starting quarterback because the back up as a good preseason game. It it comforting to know that Romo has progressed and I'm not totally scared S___tless if something happens to Bledsoe

As we say here in the islands...."No worries Brah, I can handle." Just thanks for making a comment.

gotta admit after watching the game last night Julius & Barber look exactly the same. Don't know why anybody would prefer one over the other. and Tyson looks like the real deal going against third stringers. But...having said that, knowing the injury history of Jones in the short time he's been here, i wouldn't trade him away and doubt we could recoup our original investment of a second rounder in return.

Very good points also....unless JJ has a stellar year his value will be decreased. Definitely a make or break year for him.

For me it is about who is getting the job done. Both backs are going to be part of the offense regardless of who is starting or not. I think BP made a very good point the other day when talking about these young RB coming out of college in that so few teams now days use 1 primary back and that most schools are putting out RB who are not guys who can carry the load of 25 to 30 carries a game so it is important to have 2 good backs on your team sharing the load and I think we have that with Jones and Barber

Of course a team needs two, you are right...maybe even three or four, so Parcells is not getting rid of JJ anytime soon...Why would he?

I don't think he will either but as I said if the right offer was made then yes I think most guys could be traded even Jones. Are you telling me that there is no offer worth trading Jones? Like an uncle of mine once told me everything I have is for sell at the right price, you just may not be able to afford my price. :laugh2:

The is true....running back has become a very situational position. And since both tend to be similar there isn't much shake up from one to another. Energy should be high, production should be high for both when the numbers are added together. If anything, the position should be productive...just not a good thing for those fantasy geeks. My only fantasy in football is to get that 6th ring!!! And it could be a reality soon. Maybe not this year but soon.

And just what has Barber shown? His best game was against Arizona. JJ's best games have been against PLAYOFF teams. JJ can do it all - he is the home run hitter. MB is a good solid back and nothing more. He will never be the man even if JJ is gone. The boys will draft another. MB will never be a #1 back. And this injury prone bs just shows how dumb some people are. Emmitt got the same EXACT shoulder injury. And how many of our players in the last year have gotten high ankle sprains? I have to laugh at those that claim MB did better last night. To start with the saints were already subbing their starters when he got in. BOth backs did about as well as they could with the lousy blocking that was there. MB got no more yds after contact then JJ did.
JJ can run just as hard as MB - he has done it many times. MB has no wiggle and unfortunately he seems to think he does- his big loss last week inside the 5 and him trying the same thing in practice this week had BP all over his butt.

No, I agree with you...every man has a price...
