Rush & Grier

One of them would be starting for the Cowboys this season if a few of the knuckleheads here ran the team. I still believe Rush will remain the backup. Grier had a great opportunity last season and didn’t get it done. Rushes 4-1 record last season gives him a big edge.

I'm not the biggest Dak fan, but Dak is light years ahead either of them.

Neither will ever be more than a back-up in the NFL. (wish there was more potential)

I agree about Rush over Grier. It would be a surprise if Rush didn't start the season as the #2 QB.

Yea, I think it's pretty much impossible for Rush to lose that spot.

I think Grier is a better fit for a McCarthy WCO than Dak. Grier is more accurate and would excel in a time-based offense. Not saying there will be a QB controversy even though there should be.

Teams always tend to stay with backup QBs that have won games for them and Cooper Rush is 5-1 with the Cowboys. Had he not played steady last season the Cowboys would have missed the playoffs. Will Grier has only two career starts and that was with Carolina and he went 0-2.

At the end of the day, Rush looked like a back-up QB, both on film and by the numbers. He took care of the football and was able to make a few big plays here and there, but primarily he just let the defense carry the load and took advantage of situations when they presented themselves.

He may not be someone who’s going to win games but he’s someone who knows how to play within himself and won’t lose games either. On a team like the Cowboys who have an elite defense and homerun hitters on offense, he fits nicely.
Perfect backup. Fits the definition to a T.

That's why we have the next 3 months .
But with this offense I'm leaning Grier

It sucks because there really is no way Grier can win that spot. Rush cemented his spot after what he did last season. I like Rush for what he is but he should not have a spot sewed up. Cowboys won in spite of him but that’s not what matters here…..it should actually be a competition in preseason and let the best man win.

You would think so. But they did try to get rid of him, so who knows

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, but it’s not likely. The only way we can win with Rush is if our defense plays outstanding and we have a running game. If we get a couple of scores behind with him we’re in trouble. During most of his starts we were only scoring one TD per week. The rest of our points came from Maher.

I'd cut both and see if could locate the worst backup in the NFL, CFL, or USFL. sheesh, I'd probably get the crackhead on the corner frozen in his bent-over mode.

competition kills some guys, so I don't want to make our nervous guy wonder about losing his job.

For all you doubters out there, go watch some Will Grier highlights. He's accurate, gets rid of the ball quick and makes good decisions. Sure he doesn't have a rocket arm, but neither did Joe Montana. I like the kid and wouldn't hesitate for him to be QB #2.

I'd prefer Rush and Nooch, but Sean Payton nabbed him as a 4th (soon to be 3rd) QB.
