Rush vs Dak: Vision of field

Playcalling isn't the issue. Hitting the broad side of a barn is the issue.

Well I think we'll find out pretty quickly. When Dak comes back and he plays poorly then we can't blame Moore. If Moore can make the offense go with Rush but can't with Dak then it's pretty obvious. I would like to see Moore call less trick plays. I also would like Moore to call less plays that take 2-5 seconds to develop. Those long developing plays force Dak to understand what the defense is doing and make an accurate throw. If Moore cuts down the trick plays and the long developing plays and the offense still stalls, then Dak is definitely the problem and we need to move on from him.

This is what makes him better WAY MORE VELOCITY and gets it out quicker and more crisp

I don’t know what game you are watching but we are seeing different things or defining things differently. By velocity I was referring to the Soper of the ball in the air on a pass, not the decision to pass nor the act of passing.

Maybe it's not a field of vision problem. Maybe it's the offense has been stripped down for Rush. Because I don't see Rush going through his progressions very often, like Dak. So Moore must be calling either or plays for Rush. Where he makes one read before choosing his target.

The game plan may be watered down. It’s hard to tell. But it certainly appears that Rush is going through his progressions. The TV announcers were even commenting on it—seemingly with a bit of surprise.

Rush just sees the field soo much better!!

Dak and his 31 point per game, #1 scoring offense just looks soo pathetic in comparison to the one Rush runs.

Good passes....mostly in stride. Good timing as far as going for it...as opposed to a 5 yard dump off.

Rush is a bit of a noodle arm, but he does appear to have improved slightly in that area.

Rush seems to be able to see the field batter than Dak and go through his progressions better than Dak.

If so, that’s really not a good thing as far as Dak is concerned. He has a great deal more reps and game experience. The fact that Rush has the better of him that regard is a serious cause for concern regarding Dak.

Rush seems to be throwing to his first or second read most of the time....that's why he get rid of the ball as quickly as he does. Dak goes through his progression a lot more, trying for the big play. Takes him longer and leads to more sacks and pressures. This is something KM needs to address.

I’m not for Rush over Dak or Dak over Rush. I am just discussing obvious differences. Are you suggesting that Dak has great field vision? The Tampa Bay game is a pretty strong example that is simply not the case.

But i'm going to say this....if Dak put up the same numbers as Rush, you guys would say, we're not going to make it with those numbers. I know because some of you said it before. So STOP IT! Cooper Rush is doing a very good job as a BACKUP. NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS HE BETTER THAN DAK. Look back at the threads and read how Dak gets talked bad about because he didn't put up big passing numbers. Now that Cooper Rush is putting up similar numbers.....HE'S GREAT! He's doing a good job but he's no where near the talent of Dak.

Well....I can dissect that. You've seen 4 games of Cooper Rush. You haven't been in the QB room. You haven't been to the practices. And you're not one of the coaches. And you start a thread that asks if he Rush sees the field better than Dak....lol. Four games of Cooper Rush and you ask that question....lol. I rest my case.

I just said the same thing in another post. Dak puts up those numbers and he gets skewered here. Not all forums are like this. The Zone has a few posters who obsessively post the same thing over and over and under different user accounts. Even the Reddit-Cowboys page has less trollish behavior by a mile.

Rush is playing not to lose a game....that's why he's throwing to his first read as much as he does. Nothing wrong with that when you have a defense like us. Dak plays to win the game because he's never had a defense like this one. If he learns to be more of a bus driver and not try to carry the team, we can be dangerous.

It would seem that if Dak approached the game a bit more like Rush, that it would benefit Dak and the WIN column. The team has more potential upside with Dak, for sure, but Dak needs to figure a few things out.

Ironically, sitting out might make Dak see that. We can hope so.

That what a coach is supposed to do....Dak has plenty of talent....his coaches need to rein him in and not expect him to carry the team....we don't need to score 30 points every game with this defense....years past, yes....nut not this year.
