Rush vs Dak: Vision of field

Yep we seen dak with a good thumb, now after surgery he suppose to be better.

That's basically what I said.....but, the coaches also need to call the game like they are calling it for Rush.

The thing that drives me crazy about KM is it seems like he is calling the game to try to score 50 points instead of just winning the game. It looks great when you score 50 and win with style points. It doesn’t look all that great when you lose an ugly game because of missed opportunities.

It is like KM has zero situational awareness and he is calling a game in a vacuum. If you throw a bomb on 3rd and 1 and connect it looks great. But if you kill a drive with the incompletion its a missed opportunity.

There are times to do that. But if you have had several 3 and outs it might be a good idea to run a higher percentage play to help your offense gain confidence and momentum and give your defense a chance to rest.

I agree that KM may very well be part of Dak’s issues.

He's also trying to become a HC....wins are more impressive than points for a current HC, but not for an OC. This is where MM should come in and settle him down.

But as far as seeing the field . Well I have been saying His whole carear He doesn't see or process the field well. . . . and after only 4 games I love what I see from Kellen and He has elevated the Whole team based upon His ability to see read and process the field . . . . It is obvious

This thread isn’t intended to be a who is better thread or who should start thread. This is merely an observation about one aspect of their respective talents.

Rush seems to be able to see the field batter than Dak and go through his progressions better than Dak.

If so, that’s really not a good thing as far as Dak is concerned. He has a great deal more reps and game experience. The fact that Rush has the better of him that regard is a serious cause for concern regarding Dak.

This does appear to be the case. However, Dak is clearly more talented physically. It's an interesting situation.

Because I have been saying it His whole carear . . . All Dak ever did was hold on to the ball . . . Then roll out or Scramble and now He lost His legs and all he does is take sacks and RB/TE dump offs

The whole ream as individuals and as a team as whole are playing great because Rush can do what Dak never could . . . Read the Field

Rush comes up to the line and scans the field then as he drops back He reads the field and by the time his back heal plants on his final step the ball is out even before the WR makes his last cut

Because Rush can see the field . . . and your lame attempt to use Dak's Interveption stats to prove your point

That what a coach is supposed to do....Dak has plenty of talent....his coaches need to rein him in and not expect him to carry the team....we don't need to score 30 points every game with this defense....years past, yes....nut not this year.

It's unclear exactly who is making the final decision on what play is going to be run but Moore is on record stating that Dak changes out of the run quite a bit.

Ideally you would want your highly paid veteran QB to have a much better feel for the game and work with the OC, rather than have to reign him in by giving him no option to audible to a different play based on what he sees.

Seems like that puts the OC in a tough spot.

Dak has the physical edge over Rush.
Rush has the mental edge over Dak.
Which is most important ?

Mental > physical by a long shot. If Dak doesn’t get his mind right and start playing ball we’re toast. He needs to read the field and make a decision. He holds the ball pump faking back peddling, only to throw off his back foot. The physical advantage means nothing.

I don't know how you can say "we don't know...", then immediately follow up with somehow knowing that the OC is intentionally calling a heavy pass game AND is doing so for his own personal motives. That doesn't make sense.

All you or I know is what we see, read and hear. I stated it was "unclear", but the evidence we do know does sway things to one side.

The Cowboys went run heavy in 2014 leading to a very successful season despite having a terrible defense. (The 2013 defense was the worst D in team history until 2019 said hold my beer) Same could be said for 2016.

Moore gets way to much blame for the failures the offense sometimes has. Rush is chucking the ball down the field when appropriate. He reigns himself in and kicks in the spurs when appropriate. He seems to get it.

That’s the thing—without knowing what is going on behind the scenes —sometimes what someone thinks they see and what is really going on can be different. But the larger the sample size, the better of an educated guess we can make.

That’s one of the reasons, for the most part, I try not to to post in absolutes. There are often variables in play behind the scenes that we don’t know about.

Coaches should get the blame....they're big boys, it comes with the territory. If you bother to read it objectively, you might get it.
