Yeah, I was going to post it but I thought it get pulled down even though the guy appeared to live (somehow).

Reminds me a lot of the first Desert Storm. Probably because both wars were started with an intent to avoid civilian damage. We'll see how long Putin goes with that theme.

I hope he doesn't. That would be an absolutely awful loss of life.

It makes one wonder why ukraine is being given supplies, help, and encouragement. If help is not going to fight, it would be better to let them get taken over avoiding civilian damage.

Actually there are a lot of reasons Putin is doing this. He wants to regain the old USSR, he has to pay Ukraine $2 billion a year to have a pipeline transporting Russia’s gas to the rest of Europe, he doesn’t want Ukraine to be part of NATO and have their missiles be close to Russia. The president of Ukraine is Jewish and his grandparents were in concentration camps so the denazification is Putin just spilling out BS. Now none of the reasons Putin says is justification to invade a peace loving country.

It is arrogant and presumptuous to think that just because help is not given they would just give up. I can assure you, the Ukranian people will not do that.

You are confusing them with other countries where that happens, but Ukranian people are strong willed and minded and they will not just give up no matter who helps them or not.

To them, dying to keep their country is worth it and that should be commended and their people respected regardless of what happens.

I was not talking about the people. I am talking about the countries giving help. Ukraine will not defeat Russia. Russia is not even going in at its full capability. Like the post I quoted was talking about how putin's intent was to avoid civilian damage, and asside from military bases, I doubt he wanted to do infrastructure damage.

Giving up and being defeated are not the same

$350m being given to Ukraine for arms. This is why Putin is now acting out, the yearly creep on Russia has been ongoing since the Wall came down in the 80’s. Corner a rat, that rat will fight back. I seem to remember a similar drill back in the 60’s? No different. Do as I say, not as I do. How’s that working out?

What I am telling you is the Ukrainian people will not give up no matter who helps them or does not help them or who tells them to give up.

If their government leaders said, "Everyone give up" they would turn on the leaders and still keep fighting.

I think the invasion of Ukraine is unwarranted though. The people of Ukraine don't deserve this, and even the Russian people apparently don't want this. Putin is the only one wanting this rn.

I always find it amusing when people assign our own beliefs and values to other countries.

This war will last 10 years. If and when the Ukrainian Army falls, Russia will have a very nasty insurgency to deal with. With resolve and likely backing from world powers, I can see it being Veit Cong caliber

If you read any WW2 history about the Eastern Front it is well established how courageous Russian soldiers were, even against impossible odds. At that time in history, that included Ukrainian soldiers. Putin is not invading a country that will give him a cake walk. He has sent his army against essentially Russian defenders. And the Ukrainian soldiers have already distinguished themselves in bravery, as evidenced at Snake Island and the soldier who sacrificed his life to blow a bridge just to slow Russian tanks. These are a brave and proud people. Even their ex-comedian President has rejected offers to get him out of the country to safety.

I totally agree that Ukraine does not deserve this, but if we could put ourselves in Putins shoes then I think the reaction would ultimately be the same. There are many factors in play here, no one involved is wearing a halo. Keep encroaching on a rats territory and eventually that rat will strike back. I know, I’m repeating myself.
