Ryan Mallet Doing Us No Favors

I watched Mallet throwing today and I thought he had the most impressive arm out of all the QB's

I also saw him show a lot of cromaderie during drills and talking to guys like Julio Jones who had clear focus on Mallet when he was talking with him

He showed good interest and leadership and is a nice big QB.

Hearing him interviewed before the workout he sounded like he had a lot to hide.

When hearing him interview with Buck brooks and the others he said absolutely the right things and seems very heady and passionate about the game.

He doe's have a way of talking though that you can tell he has been to his share of parties and a bit of that bad boy in him though, but that's more of a pronunciation thing than what is being said.

I also do think he was sincere about football and talked sincerely about his family. He had the cross around his neck and I don't know how sincere he about religion that he's have to make the cross very evident around his neck..

If the kid is not addicted and is in no way suffering from depression and the allegations of him dipping into substance is a minimal party thing. If he's got good people around him and is serious about his football career as he needs people to let on.

Than he can be a good QB and I would put a 4th rounder on him. Doubt he would fall there but if this staff see's he's stable in all those regards he's young enough and talented enough to move past that and pick him up in the mid rounds.

We already had Quincy Carter issues so we know as well as any team.

Scouts are saying he threw ball best of anybody in the last ten years of the combine. Al Davis will take him in round 2.

I think the kid is just immature. With some time , he could be something special. I have heard the term " touch pass " used for years . This is the only kid that can throw a 45yd pass that seems to be a " touch pass ". His arm is simply amazing.

You asked for an example , not a link. I have watched him go on a tirade a couple of times this year while watching a game and I am not going to spend the time to look it up. You are welcome to. You are well aware of the concerns that scouts have with Mallett and if you would have read one of my earlier post , I stated that the media had overblown those concerns. I would be happy if Dallas could pick him up with a second round pick , but there are concerns. I have watched Mallett all year and like his potential , but don`t get upset that your pet cat has a few hairballs. Fairley gets a cheap shot in now and then , so what? I like a defensive lineman to have attitude. That has nothing to do with the concerns about Mallett that has him dropping on the draft boards. FYI , I hope he does drop so Dallas could consider him in the second round. It`s as simple as this , Mallett has an elite arm that should put him in as a top five draft pick , but his attitude and drug rumors have dropped him down and I can understand the concern. Can you ?

Let's see, Fairley's attitude is good and Mallett's is a problem??? I like Mallett's attitude and I hate Fairley's. I think he's a punk and has way more potential to be a bad influence in the locker room. I guess one man's bad attitude is anothers good?
The drug rumors? In my opinion they are borderline slander at this point and unless some proof is put forward then they need to stop. It's become a media lynching already and yet it remains nothing more than rumors. Either prove the allegations or stuff it. Anybody can start rumors about any player and within minutes it's repeated ad nauseum via twitter and blogs, polly parrots.
Meanwhile Cam gets a pass on his 'issues' even in the midst of allegations that are every bit as legit if not more than Mallett's, that he was heard in the background of audio tapes as his daddy was negotiating his services. Where are those questions today???

Lol, you're so full of crap.

I actually like Mallett more than most as a player.

But to gloss over his issues and be hyper-critical of everyone else wreaks of Arkansas pig sooie.

What a retort! :lmao:

Just stating the obvious and cutting to the chase.

Trying to discuss Mallett with you is like trying to have a serious conversation with a 10-year old girl about Justin Bieber.

Thus, you're full of crap.

Ad hominem....how original. No substance huh?

Lol, let me help you. It would be an ad hominem if I said people shouldn't like Mallett strictly on basis of you sounding like an incessant girl.

I'm simply commenting on you, not forwarding a premise regarding Mallett, Fairley or any other player.

If Fairley has an attitude problem , please let me know. He has a few late hits . Is that what you are calling an attitude problem ? DL should have an attitude when playing. That is part of the position . I could care less about Cam. He is a thief with low character and in the last few days he considers himself an icon. ( What a joke ). I agree with everything you said about Cam Newton and his crooked daddy. I live in Mississippi and the read more coverage on the story from Mississippi State than most. I think you believe that Mallett has been unfairly bashed. That may be the case. I think he is immatue and needs someone to step in before he becomes another Ryan Leaf. Weather it`s fair or not Mallett`s body language , attitude and past has come to define him in many circles. I really don`t think it is fair to bash him and praise Cam , but Mallett does raise concerns. Until he addresses them , the concerns will continue to define him. Now, I`m not asking for a link , but what has Fairley done ? Having a few late hits is no big deal for me . I wish the Cowboys played with more of an attitude. I like mean defensive players. Has he done something off the field ?

I posted a link to Fairley's late hits, trying to hurt a defenseless player laying on his back. If any of these guys has a bad attitude, a bad bad attitude as opposed to a good bad attitude, then imo it is Fairley.....time will tell.
Has he done something off the field??? You mean you haven't heard the rumors of his drug use??? Come on man, get with it, write a blog, demand an answer from Nicky!

I'll take a guys who hits QBs "too hard" over a guy who talks **** and smokes pot, especially considering the risk factor with regards to taking a DT is much lower.

Yeah, I'm serious.

You obviously have no earthly idea of what an ad hominem attack is.

BTW, you're full of crap.

Chances are that he is out of Dallas`s reach , so I have done no research on Fairley. I watched his games and he is a beast. The defensive line is a position that requires a mean , tough attitude to play . My coaches always told me that getting an occasional late hit was better than putting forth no effort and hitting like a women. Now , if he is brought up on charges of beating a women , then I would say he is scum and he has problems. You seem to be one of these fans that wants the game played without physical contact. It doesn`t work that way.

An ad hominem (Latin: "to the man"), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an attempt to link the validity of a premise to a characteristic or belief of the person advocating the premise.[1] The ad hominem is a classic logical fallacy.

What is your disconnect?

Did you personally offer me a argument or contention that I disregarded?

No.

I simply gave a description of you based on your responses to other people in the thread.

Two things can be equally true. One, I could be in total agreement with you that Mallett is a good QB prospect. Two, I can still think you're full of crap based off the reasoning and bias you used when debating Mallett with others in this thread.

Ezactly, so what is your disconnect? You didn't address the argument/message, you went after the messenger.
