Saban or Bellicheck would be the right HC hire!

So I bet the talent we have now is tainted by this country club life style, hearing how our practices are soft, the issue will always be the jones

i'd take either.
forced to choose...i'd go belichick.
both are "grumpy" head-coaches.
tough.
disciplined.
we could use some "grumpy".

not sure either would want to work with jerry.
they would want more control than they'd get here.
but i could be wrong.
i still would love to see mike vrable here as hc.
he's younger...and also "grumpy".

To old. Both and I believe Saban coached in the NFL and sucked at it.... So, that'll be a hard no from me. Go out and find a younger coach with the same aspects.

If Saban couldn’t handle the pressure of coaching in Miami, just imagine him trying to deal with the pressure of coaching the Cowboys. Lol

Who knows if he strikes out in landing another HC job, he could join either.

Nah. They'd start rebuilding, get 2 yesrs in and Jerry would not be able to let them run the show and annoy them into leaving before they complete the rebuild... see parcells.

Right get his tree like Vrabel or a Flores as HC, gets my vote..
Fully agree with those choices and I posted that yesterday.

Doesn’t really matter though while the focus of the franchise is about Jerry being a celebrity and the culture that he wants….where he is buddies with players and they have a direct line to him, and he can talk football with the media. It’s more about show business than football, and proving that ‘hey I’m a football guy.’

So, expect Rex Ryan, who will sell Jerry on making the most of Parsons, and will take a shorter contract because it’s more than the nothing he would get anywhere else, and go along with the charade.

This organization needs a complete douching by a competent and strong actual football person who is given real authority. Even if Jerry somehow could find that person, he wouldn’t hire him.

Personally, I would love a young, innovative, modern Offensive HC from the Coaching Trees of McVay or Shanahan, but hiring either Saban or Bellicheck is what this franchise needs to do for their next HC hire when MM ultimately departs.

Why do we want a old retread HC?

If you read my last post about McClay, it's all about convincing Jerry/Stephen that they need to change how they operate, how they build a roster. A former coach with "clout" who they respect might be the only chance to convince change is needed. Bellicheck has 8 Super Bowl Rings, 6 with the Patriots as HC and 2 with the Giants as DC. Saban has 7 College Championship Rings. Both are considered the GOATS on each level.

-We know Bellicheck has strong ties with the Cowboys, working on the competition committee with Stephen for years. He also has a close relationship with Jimmy who helped him early in his HC career.

-Cowboys always had close ties with Alabama throughout the draft prep for years. People tend to forget that Jason Garrett was Saban's QB Coach while with the Miami Dolphins.

Both are 72 years old with a wealth of experience and motivation. Bellicheck wants to prove to Kraft that he can win without Kraft & Brady. As for Saban, he crashed and burned in his only opportunity as an NFL HC.

There are some benefits and pitfalls from each:

-Bellicheck remains a great DC, but struggles hiring competent OC's
-Saban is aware of all the college, modern schemes and talent, but he lacks experience in the NFL game.
That would be a hard NO on both these men. They had they're time in the sun, the Cowboys need a hungry young man to turn this sinking ship around. I'm sure there are a few brilliant young football minds in the NFL who are waiting for their turn to be a HCs in the NFL, like these guys who were young when they started or who are young and are now getting their shot and having success as HCs.

  1. Kyle Shanahan - SF
  2. Sean McVay - Rams
  3. Kevin O’Connell - Vikings
  4. Shane Steichen - Colts
  5. DeMeco Ryans - Texas
  6. Mike MacDonald - Seattle

Do we think Saban knows how to build a roster? He was 3 and 4 deep with 5 star talent at every position!

I am not dimisihing what he accomplished but the plahing field in the NFL is way more level

If there was a cap on how many 5-star recruits one university can have at any one time.....Saban's track record would look a whole lot different. I think Coach K and Saban walked away at the right time....we will NEVER be able to find out if their DOMINANCE was due to their coaching or the fact they overwhelmed everyone else with the talent they could convince to come play for them. You don't get to pick every player you want in the pros...there is a draft....and quite often you don't get who you wanted or thought you would get (See Rick Pitino/Tim Duncan situation when Pitino left college for the Celtics)

Steve Spurrier found out real quick that the NFL and NCAA were different animals. He literally tried to win games with his old college QB (Danny Weufell)!!!!!!!!!

People forget Andy Reid was fired by the Eagles cause he couldn't win the big game, look at him now! Look at Jimmy's lack of success with the Dolphins post Cowboys, does that make him a poor HC too?
Exactly.......

C'mon KJ.......that was over 20 years ago. I'm pretty sure he will admit he learned from it and will do some things differently.

Saban might make a good GM. He knows the college players but it will NEVER happen here. Stop it with the hypotheticals.

I will give you Shanahan and maybe McVay ( who's now struggling ) but what have the rest done to suggest they are a better choice than Belichick
