Sad confession of a Cowboys fan

Same exact reaction here. Not even an iota of celebration - is was depressing really. 1:13 with this defense vs. the greatest QB of all time was an absolute game ender. It was a gut wrenching feeling.

Very sad state of affairs when that's the case.
Even worse when you know they could have run off an additional 40 seconds of it wasn't for that idiotic pass play

That was the most painful part of all. It's almost schizophrenic to intentionally run the clock down for nearly ten minutes only to reverse course when it really matters and throw a pass. I'm still in disbelief over that call.

When Dak scored, I had zero elation, zero celebration, zero excitement. The first and only thought I had was that he just lost the game. Even my outrageously optimistic wife could only muster a "maybe we can hold them to a FG."

This owner and coaching staff has taken all the joy out of being a Cowboys fan. And stop with the BS "go somewhere else" comments. It's been a lifetime of ups and down and I ain't leaving the brotherhood now or ever. I live in Patriot country for chrissakes, so if I wanted to be a bandwagoner I've had the best option on the planet.

It's just no fun watching this horse **** defensive scheme play out year after year, and no end in site because Jerry doesn't seem to care.
I too live in Patriot country and like you have been a lifelong fan. But watching Jerruh make money and not give a darn about winning is really disheartening. He keeps making money and excuses for a joke of a coach who leads this band of very undisciplined and fundamentally stupid players. Always making the wrong call, the wrong attempted play that results in a killer penalty or a rookie who fumbles a punt that should have been fair caught. How many different ways will this team find to lose???

Aren’t the defensive players embarrassed ?
No, they are not. On Tuesday they get paid no matter how stupidly they played on Sunday. Have you ever noticed that after a loss the players are yucking it up with the opposition? This ain't football any longer, it is entertainment like vaudeville.

I know on of the GB drives after Dak just put the team up 2 scores Rodgers was slicing up the D. Dak had a look on his face as if he had a epiphany. It was like he came to the realization this is all on him. As if he felt what Tony Romo went through in his time in Dallas.

Can anyone list the results of the last say, 10 times, we handed to ball of to any team with a 7 pt or less lead and < 2 minutes to play? I'm just curious to know if my perceptions are bs or if I'm accurately remembering how anemic our 2 minute defense is.

It seems to happen a lot. But then it also seems to be against some pretty good QBs.

I am surprised there isn't a "Williams is a scrub"thread.

We'll get there, if there isn't one already. I was just thinking to my self at that point, 'if we can somehow manage to score here, we're going to lock this one up.' Next thing I knew I was blinking at the tv with beer dribbling down my chin wondering what the frell just happened. It gave them points, and flipped the likely last-possession dynamic in one swoop.

Also, it was disorienting because I'd forgotten what a defensive takeaway was and that they are legal.

Yep. 70/30 that ends up another Packer win. The fact that it was stolen from us--on top of how many unusual calls that Packer team gets when they play *anybody* leaves a terrible taste in your mouth.

Its disgusting, I'm so beaten down by them basically dominating us since the 90's dynasty fell

I used to date this beautiful gal from Wisconsin that lived in Dallas (dumb *** that I was, I let her get away). Anyway, her brothers would come down to watch GB vs Dallas in the playoffs and I'd always take them out to a nice dinner and tell them to drink up, paid for everything, etc

and they were like, man you don't have to do that and I always told them yes I do because GB is gonna lose and I want you to go home with at least one good memory of your time in Dallas.

I bet they'd love to find me and rub the last 20 years in my face

Gawd help you if you're going to endeavor to correct my horrendous spelling, you won't be left with much time for anything else.

I appreciate your effort nonetheless

FYI...I misspelled bureaucratic for the 1,349th time this am, for whatever reason I can never seem to get it right without resorting to the googles, drives me bonkers....

Well, I thought you meant "griping" as in complaining. As opposed to gripping with nerves.
