Jimmy didn't have that little inconvenience called a salary cap in 93 either.

I was referring to his play calling. He was a pure gambler. It was a fun brand of football.

More like Falcon-06 Saints- 03...

I have a 38 point lead in my FFL this week, my opposition has John Carney (NO kicker) and Ron Mexico...I want a low scoring game.

Hey Jarv,

That "NO kicker" that you alluded to has netted me 12 points so far tonight. Right now, I'm only 23 points behind you with another half to play. :D

This is the worse football crew since Dennis Miller. I don't like either one of them.
Not saying I like the crew. I liked the comment. Minor difference.

But that said, you don't like women right now, so you prolly shouldn't respond to me anymore while watching your football. Wouldn't want to annoy you, ya know. ;)

I can see that happening!!!

the reason I bring it up is:
1) we don't really know if BP was hindering Payton or the other way around when Payton was here...
2) Payton has a very inferior, talent-wise, team sitting at 2-0 looking like they'll be 3-0.
3) Looks like Payton really has his team focused, disciplined (relative to the Aint's history), and ready to play. Well prepared and scouted
4) looks like he's making a fine young headcoach

sure its very early but this is the best the Aints have ever looked since the last time they made the playoffs....I think Reagan or Bush Sr was president

Kornheiser just said it, everything is going right for the Saints

I haven't been watching the first half (Heroes premiere), but would there be any evidence to support the conspiracy theories we saw on the board this week?? I mean come on, a 20-3 lead for the Saints in the first half?? Forgive me if I'm a little skeptical.

Yeah.. I'm just talking about the fact that he gets more press than any other corner in the league based on his "Deion-esque" self marketing.. Every week Hall creates a media story by challenging whatever reciever he is going against...

I just don't think Hall has established enough unanimous respect within the league to be making some of those comments.

..But I agree.. America needs to see him to judge for themselves
I hope you know I was rolling the eyes at Hall, not at you. :) I just don't like anyone who has to constantly tell us how great he is, even if it's true. (And with Hall, it's not... At least, not yet.)

Bigger offseason addition for the Saints... Bush or Brees? ..

Right now I say Brees... he is managing the offense pretty well... If Brooks was still there they would be down 10-7.. at least.. it depends how many times Brooks would have thrown backwards..

Give the Saints some credit. They have been playing well for the past couple of weeks. Granted the competition was not as good as the Falcons.

I don't believe in NFL conspiracies, though I do believe that the refs are actually looking at the Vegas lines when they go under the hood for a replay review. I think the refs do try to keep the primetime games close. Look for a furious Falcons comeback in the second half.

Not from the reffing, its been relatively fair, almost downright average tonight.

Saints just look pumped, and give Payton credit he has to this point totally figured out Atlantas NCAA option offense.

Huh, yeah, I agree with you. Man, the funny thing about Brees, please cover every big guy or running back on the field, cause he will throw it to them every time.

Well I can't "give them credit," because I haven't been watching. That's just the first thing that popped into my head from flipping over to a blowout. I mean the Falcons have been running roughshod over two highly touted running defenses. Now the Saints and their swiss cheese defense comes in and basically shuts them out for a half??

This is typical MNF with a theme. Team A gets off to a fast start and a big lead, only to have it evaporate in the second half as Team B finally begins scoring. Then either team may win in the final seconds of the game.

MNF script is a constant, but the teams may vary.

A lot of whacky things have helped the saints. blocked punt for a TD, blocked FG.

And then there have been some drops. Surprisingly the Saints pass D hasn't been THAT bad. Not great, but enuff to make it difficult for the ATL WRs to do anything. Add that to an ineffective running game which is the bread and butter of your offense, and this is what you get.

Oh and this Saints Colston dude is pretty good. 7th rounder who is abusing the Falcons right now.

WRs have been covered like blankets. VIck has been contained. Dunn has had some nice runs but not enough in succession.

If this is fixed, it means Atlanta is purposely taking a dive.

I don't buy that for a second. They are being outplayed, flat out. It happens in this league.
