Salute, Demarcus Lawrence!

Tank is ranked 31 with a few others in the rankings...It is what it is....

Just shows how far behind Nolan is with his scheme and coaching technique. May want to let your best player play in his optimal comfort zone.
McCarthy and Nolan said during camp that they would scheme their defensive scheme(s) around how the players play best...and not demand the players change their play according to their scheme.

They lied.

He got what Jerry paid him. I can't judge players based on what Jerry gave them. I just can't. I'd be sitting here hating every player on the team.
Blame DLaw for what he thought he was worth.....he literally refused to have a needed surgery until he got the pay day that he wanted. He got what he wanted.....now play to that level.

Time to stop the ignorance of placing this man in the underachiever category. He is not elite, but he is by far the best player on D and arguably a top 3 non-QB player on the team.

Salute, Mr. Lawrence.

He was paid to be elite....that is the problem.

I heard that too. That's why I think McCarthy should also be gone if he doesn't replace Nolan.

Oh my, and such a meaningful play in the game.
You are correct, and I battled with that myself. However, the fact remains that it's still there. I don't believe he nor the rest are 100% committed to playing. So, sure, harp on the fact that it's the last play but it identifies a long established pattern by this defense.

Nolan's scheme suits D Law. He's playing well is in a rotation the same snap rate he has played in previous years. He's in 3 point stance most of the time. That is what Mike Nolan wanted him to do and it is working. He has listened to the coaching scheme and given his best. Well done D Law. Now we need to add some further pieces for this front and this scheme can make further progress

So your argument is that he forced Jerry's hand? Please lol....he got what people of his caliber got. And based on the way he's been graded by sources like PFF and Next Gen.....he's playing top 5 at his position so he's playing exactly the way you'd like.

The defense is atrocious, no one is arguing about that. It's just flat out wrong to claim Lawrence is like trash just because he is overpaid like most players in the league. The issue with overpaying talent lies with the front office not the locker room.

Lawrence is playing better now, but let's not forget how invisible he was earlier in the season. A guy with his contract should never disappear from games because his CAP impact certainly isn't disappearing.

My issue with Lawrence has always been the amount of money Jerry gave him. It is an absurd contract. Lawrence just is not as good as the money Jerry gave him, but in the era of the CAP, that matters.

Harkening back to the days of Demarcus Ware in his heyday, Ware always set the edge and it was a rarity for anyone to run outside him. Ware could string the play out to the sideline for no gain, or he would force the RB back inside. The Cowboys DEs do not do this and Lawrence is one of the offenders. He likes to crash down inside and he falls for the misdirection. The 49ers got him several times yesterday. Perhaps he is trying to make a play inside because he knows the DTs are young and not that great.

The Cowboys defense does not play as a unit. This is why guys are chasing misdirection instead of minding their own gaps. The DEs are getting caught inside because they are not doing their jobs, which is to make sure the play does not get outside.

I've never bought into the whole D-Law got paid and shut it down narrative. Dude goes hard.. ALL the time.. Too many people fall in love with sack numbers and think that a guy getting sacks is "great." Robert Quinn put up sacks last year .. Would anybody here take him over Lawrence? If you would then you should probably turn in your "football man" card. Lawrence is 5th on the team in tackles with 50. He has more forced fumbles (4) than Khalil Mack (3) and the same number as Aaron Donald. He also has more tackles than both those guys.. Mack has 9 TFLs.. Donald has 11.. Lawrence has 10.. People keep rolling out the "but he doesn't get sacks" trope as if that's the only thing a defender can do to help his team. Other than sacks Lawrence has been as good or better than two of the guys considered to be the best in the game and I dare say he's doing it with by FAR the least amount of talent around him of the top guys..

I don't believe I said any of that.

Again explain what he has done this season to be worth a 20 mil a year contract.
