But you best bet that they'll be looking to pull the upset and be really fired up to do it. They're in a no lose situation really. Their season isn't done, but 0-4? They'll be pulling the fake FG,s the fake punts and the onside kicks left and right.

They'll be aiming to catch us off guard. Probably do to us what Miami did to the Patriots with the Wildcat.

And, unfortunately, this looks like a team that can be caught off guard.

Wayne, my problem is we're a 2-2 team that has been highly mistake prone in every game. You might say we should hang our hat on hanging in there against two quality opponents, but to me that sounds like the mantra of a 7-9 type team. Unfortunately, that looks like what we are, so maybe that is the strategy we should employ -- especially come December. If we can expect to lose to better teams, we're going to lose a number of them late this season.

I'm not of the 'get rid of Jerry/Romo/Garrett/Wade' crowd, necessarily. It's early October and none of those guys are going anywhere right now. I'll save those dialogues for the offseason.

But we're a sloppy team and I just wonder how, if at all, that can be fixed. Even in our victories you see a team that isn't firing on all cylinders.

...the offseason may have already started in Dallas...the Cowboys sleepwalked through the second half of that game...right off a cliff with no one either willing or capable of stopping it...

...the Denver offense crossed into Dallas territory few times yesterday...this was Dallas' game to lose and they proceeded to do just that...it was only a matter of time before the defense had a lapse...a sickening display and after this no one should be under any illusions about playoffs or championships...i mean Kyle Orton...come on!

I will say that this loss bothers me a lot more than the Giants one did, simply because I think the Giants are a better team and that one was a last-second, two point game literally decided by a couple of flukey bounces of the ball. This one today I'm afraid could stick with us. There's a big difference between 2-2 and 3-1. If this team loses faith, and/or if the QB loses his confidence, we're screwed.

All that said, of course we should win next week and be 3-2 going into a bye week. I still say that if we can just scrape through to the end and then string a few wins together, we can make as much noise as anyone. But we have to win some of these close games -- we can't keep losing them.

I woke up feeling just as crappy as yesterday. That was a really difficult loss. I felt we needed to be at least 4-1 going in to the bye. Well 3-2 will have to do and this team will have to go at least 7-4 after the bye. Possible, but 6-5 would have been easier.

The special teams need to keep up their stellar play, the D needs to keep up this recent improved play, and the offense needs to get back to what was getting them 30+ points/game the first couple of weeks.

So we beat two 0-4 teams, lost to both 4-0 teams, and have looked bad all year long. Who are we...not an average team I am afraid.

Offense out of synch, two many mental errors, mistakes, etc. and play calling suspect...bad QB play, poor decisions, no pocket presence...not good. Can Garrett wake up in time to make changes or is this what we will see all year long? Run the damn ball.

Defense looks lost at times, horrible tacking, too many mistakes, etc. and perhaps the worst defense in Dallas in the past 20 years. Does Phillips have a clue...or is he blinded by seeing only what he wants (hope) and not what is really there (very poor execution)?

Special teams surprisingly is the one area that has been bad for years, but the new coach has them playing much better.

We will be lucky to be 7-9 given how we are playing.

I'm not drinking the kool-aid, nor am I absolving everyone of guilt. I am saying we played competitively against the Giants and Broncos and lost two games to teams that are better than we are.

I get mad when we do stupid things and lose to weaker teams. Every team makes stupid plays every week. the Giants were far from perfect against us, and the Broncos didn't do any better than we did. We didn't give those teams the wins...they took them. Why?

I happen to believe with no doubt that the NY Giants are a better football team than the Cowboys. I also think the Eagles are better. Both teams have been better than us for a while now...why would we suddenly be better than they are.

I had my doubts about Denver because I didn't really know much about them and didn't buy into that #1 defense, but I have to say we were beaten by a better team in the fourth quarter in a stadium that's known to be one of the real home field advantages.

What I'm doing is admitting that the Dallas Cowboys football team is not one of the better teams in the NFL. I think we're probably middle of the pack and can only hope to scrape together a wild card run. I think the deluded fans are the ones who think a different coach, a different OC, or a different gm would take this same team and win the NFC East with it...that's what I call deluded.

I believe our guys are ready to play football every week and are playing their guts out, something we questioned the past two years. I just don't think we're good enough to beat some of the best teams yet. At some point this season, we'll have to pull out a couple of wins against top teams in close games if we hope to make the playoffs....maybe we will or maybe we won't, but I don't get mad when we play hard and lose to a better team.

The Broncos proved they have a better team, as did the Giants, imo.

Next week we'll beat KC....that doesn't mean we're a playoff team....it just means we're not a bottom feeder like we were for several years before Parcells arrival. I feel like we have a defense that is only going to get better and better, which has the look of an upper tier defense. Even when Tony Romo has a good game, assuming there are still some of those coming this year, this offense is going to struggle against some of the best defenses. The offense, even with a good Romo, is not among the top offenses in the league.

We will struggle mightily to move ahead of either Philly or NY this season. I'm merely accepting reality, but somehow others find that to be a positive thing or drinking the kool-aid....far from it.
