I understand, but today could go either way. Today could mean Panther does better covers ever or Panther does better covers the Van Halen is capable of now. I just didn't understand. Today they do do Van Halen better then Van Halen but that point was not clear to me in your post, even with the word today.

I just don't see that happening. The day for new VH music has passed many years ago.
