One thing is for sure, the last thing they want to do is start a "Romo Watch" before the last game of the season by announcing he's going to play.

That would make the entire week just insufferable.

I actually do think Tony will get some time, and I don't blame them at all for not mentioning it.

I just don't see it. Romo won't get any playing time unless Dak goes down in the playoffs or stinks so bad in the playoffs that they'll be forced to put Romo in.

Romo doesn't want to do mop-up duty.

Do you really want to see how Romo's back will handle the hits coming from his blindside? It's probably better for his trade value to leave it up to the imagination

im sure romo isnt stoked to see cleary watching his blindside either lol but hey dallas is clearly protecting Romos trade value.

i doubt we see Romo at all anymore. i expect Dak to do just fine and take us to the promise land. yes hes a rook but im beeing extra positive. :D

He's not likely to have a Tyron with the next team he plays for. If he can't move around very well anymore or Houdini spin his way out of trouble it might be best he retire before he ends having to use a walker by the time he's 45.
don't think the Cowboys really care about his next teams line situation, im sure theyre more worried with who can replace Dak in the playoffs if needed

Dak gets hurt in the playoffs and a far too rusty Romo is inserted.
Okay.

Personally, I think the "rusty" angle is a little overblown. How many times have backups come in games and led their teams to victory? It happens more than seldom.

its really pretty easy, if Romo plays and severely injures himself, the team will be stuck with Romo and his salary next year. They can't trade him, and they can't cut an injured player. Not worth the risk in a meaningless game. Hopefully they won't have to use him the rest of the way and avoid this risk.

Perhaps, although Romo has not been under center (in 'real time') since the pre-season. If he is actually going to be the first back-up option in the playoffs he should get some reps against Philly. He has to be physically ready by this time.

Playing Sanchez over Romo makes no sense to me.
Why would you expose Romo without your starting left tackle, another missing offensive lineman, your best pass protecting running back, best receiver, and possibly starting tight end?

For the same reason that Dak will get some reps in this game.

There's the "knock the rust" off Romo argument, of course. However, there's also the "keep Romo from getting injured for trade value" argument, along with the "keep Romo from getting injured before the playoffs". Since a rusty Romo is better than Sanchez in his prime, they must think they're maximizing their talent by playing Sanchez.
I will take a one arm, one leg, Romo that has not taken a snap in over a year before I play the Butt Fumbler in a playoff game.

Sanchez should start and play more
Romo should get some snaps in the second half

Two weeks is a good break for a couple rookies, NFL season is brutal
Just stay away from Cabo or Boulder or Spring Break
