Doesn’t pay to be an RB these days. They’ll just let him sit and throw away money until he comes back.

Without Barkley the giants don’t make the playoffs imo

this is just posturing, never would happen...10MM is a lot of money to any nfl player and knowing he has a short shelf life thats still a great guarantee....

We've beaten that trash team 10 straight times with Dak under center.

Suit up Week 1, Saquon. Or sit out and lose money. Nobody in Dallas cares one way or another.

Someone on FB said, "I hope he does suit up week 1, because the haters will say the only reason we won is because they didn't have Barkley." The fans that are always chirping about "haters" are the most annoying fans, but that's what I get for reading FB comments re: the Cowboys. I don't suggest it. lol

He's gonna pass on the tag? I don't see any plan that will recoup that money since he can't negotiate long term at this point. Doesn't seem like he has many options. Play, make 10 mil, don't play and be out that money. That's all you got.

Can’t speak much to Fakebook and Twatter…….I knew a long time ago not to waste my time with that crap.

I don’t know how I’ve managed to survive without reading post from middle aged women suburban, triggered because they cant deal with the fact that they are irrelevant …..and other such nonsense

He has ZERO Leverage, especially with his injury record.... learn from the Le'veon Bell situation from a few years back with Pittsburgh, didn't work out to well for him either sitting out. The running back position in today's NFL is no longer considered a vital position to pay long term big money on, just like with safeties and kickers.
Yup and Bell has come out and publicly stated that he regrets doing that. Barkley would be wise to listen.

he will play the first game he knows the money is what it is and its not going to get any better the there will be no more big time contracts for running backs in the nfl

He may feel that way but I doubt it comes to that. After seeing what that did to Le’Veon Bell’s career, it wouldn’t be a wise move. NFL can stand for ‘Not For Long’. He’s a big name RB now…but a lot can change in a year. And his next deal wouldn’t make up for his lost money this season. Pretty simple math actually

If I'm Barkley I make my stand or I play. In other words, sign the tag and play, or sit out the year. He's got plenty of money. He can do either. Because lets face it, the Giants aren't doing crap without him. Make your stand, or fall in line.
That’s really his only options
The RB market has fallen off a cliff. He is a prime example of part of the reason too. He’s great when healthy but it’s a tough position to stay healthy and the few that do generally have a huge drop in production after a few years in the league
It’s a position that really is one you don’t want to play in todays nfl

Lol, he turned down 26 million for 2 years. Either take the 10 million or really screw yourself. He isn't going to see the 26 again. Take the 10 and retire is the way to go since they already blew the 26 deal.
He would have to make $16M next year to total $26M over 2 years. I doubt that happens. He made a mistake by not accepting their offer.

It makes me happy to see turmoil in the Giants team! Schadenfreude.....

The Giants offered Barkley at least 2 franchise tags worth of guarantees, and probably more, because New York would prefer to free up those tags for future use.

Couple that with New York's reported base-salary offer, and I am guessing their offer on the table for Barkley is 3 years, $42M, $25M guaranteed.

In this down-bad RB market, that is a freaking gold mine. Joe Mixon just got salary-cut down to 2 years/$12M. Dalvin Cook got released over $10M base salary, and is receiving offers for half that. Miles Sanders got the biggest FA running back contract at 4 years/$24M.

There are NOT teams lining up to pay a running back $14 million, I know that. New York's offer is generous in the current market, and Saquon isn't going to beat it by holding out.

No win situation for running backs. Where’s the equity NFL? I thought you were dedicated to that BS.
Yeah I don't know how to feel about the situation they are in. What is High School football going to do when none of the skill players want to play RB. This will eventually have a trickle down effect to College and High School and you will efffectively take the talented away from the RB position
