I heard so many people make the statement, well I use to go or watch or like the Cowbys until the way they fired Landry......But as soon as they were winnig, they were right here rooting for them.

5% is a lot more than zero percent. :D With $3.5 million dollar suites to sell, Jerry could panic and make an impulse move - the same move he doesn't want Romo to make.

I agree with you that the Cowboys hired Bill in part to help build a new stadium. Its been discussed locally and pretty widely accepted by media in fact.

However, now JJ has nothing to worry about with ticket sales.

That craptastic baseball team you mentioned, they sold out the ballpark for years with crap product. New stadiums do that.

Does Jerry care about marketing? Well, Lord yes! The guy just said he passed on Quinn in part because Romo is Hispanic, lol.

But this team is not going to dump Wade to hire a big name guy for the sake of doing so. And the Rangers suck this year horrible after sucking last year almost as horribly. They simply do not have the talent to not suck. This Dallas team is very talented and they can underachieve and Wade will hold his job. They'd need to totally implode.

I'd bet dollars to donuts this job goes to Garrett when the next hire is announced. JJ is very very loyal and loves Garrett's Dad and their family.

Thats a question those folks asks themselves everyday.
She is called Madame No for a reason.

When doing business with Jerry you basically have to smile when he says,"BOHICA" because the alternative is watch someone else benefit.

I actually wanted the stadium in Frisco. And the fine folks of Frisco would have snapped it up in a heartbeat.

Ask them they are the ones who tried to play hardball with Jerry. The City of Arlington seemed to jump at the ideal.

Jerry is all about selling tickets. He knew that hiring Bill Parcells would get a stadium built in Arlington. Cowher will put people in the seats, not Phillips. I dont think it would be the right move, but it wouldnt surprise me if Jerry hired Cowher next year.
I don't think fans would buy tickets to see Phillips or Cowher.

If Phillips can get the defense playing to potential, the fans will come.

Because people that think like they do are too stupid to see the Cowboys new digs is a gold mine.

Super Bowl coming with an estimated 300 million.
Several big college games already wrapped up.
Final 4's will be coming.
Possible move to Dallas by the NFR after 2010

Conventions, concerts etc, etc, etc..........

But hey those events meant little. right, Without Parcells fat NJ butt it would NEVER have been possible.

Stop teasing me!!! You have me salivating!!!!! :D The thought of sleeping an extra 2 hours for a noon game??? Pinch me. As it is now, the Arlington trip will mean a 5:00 AM wakeup for a noon game. :( Frisco would have been a coup-de-gras!!

(now I'm being totally argumentative) But THEY are the Dallas Cowboys!!! They can sell anything to anyone with anybody as head coach (including me) at anytime!!!! People will stand in line and worship at the almighty star just for the chance to fork over billions of dollars. Isnt that what was claimed? :D

They are the Dallas Cowboys that much I will agree with. They are also 1 of 2 things people think about when Dallas is mentioned the other is JFK being shot. The Cowboys brought a big boost to that area and put the city of Irvin on the map I doubt before the Cowboys moved to Irvin most people outside of Dallas never even heard of the place. I will also say the Cowboys name recognition is important and does put them in a bit of a class by themselves much like the New York Yankees in baseball. In the end what puts Fannies in the seats though is winning more than anything else. A big name coach may draw attention but if the team is not winning then it becomes much easier to get tickets

Nobody said it would have never been possible without Parcells. It just would have been more difficult to complete the deal the way Jerry wanted it done. Jerry started negotiations with the city of Dallas before Parcells even arrived in Dallas. He really wanted the Fair Park area of downtown Dallas. We all saw how that shaped up. Parcells arrived after three straight 5-11 seasons under Campo and took the Cowboys to the playoffs with a 10-6 record. Jerry built on that momentum and sealed the deal with Arlington. Next time you see Jerry, ask him how important Parcells was in building "Jerry World."

Now they're just going to think of JFK. So the Cowboys can’t sell anything to anyone at anytime. They have to be The Winning Cowboys.

Parcells was important in helping turn the team around somewhat but I don't think the mayor of Arlington made the deal because of Parcells. He knows this is a long-term commitment by the city and the Cowboys and that goes way beyond any coach.

I guarantee you the mayor of Arlington does not sign the deal he signed with Jerry if the Cowboys are 5-11 with Campo as head coach and no end to the losing in sight. Face it, as much revenue as Arlington will hopefully generate with the new stadium, Jerry raked that mayor over the coals. Jerry couldn't have done so without a playoff team.

No they could not sell the ideal to the Mayor of Dallas. She made her choice and now is complaining about how other events will now be moved to the new ball park in Arlington including the Super Bowl. As for the winning comment as I said some fans will not go to the game if the team is not winning and during down times I have been able to get tickets pretty easy but when this team is on top it was very difficult to buy a ticket as games sold out fairly quick. I guess you could say it is like marriage for me, through good times or bad in sickness and in health until death do we part. I'll be at the game. :laugh2:

and that's the way it should be. We need more people like you at the stadium. I always joke with my wife that I am married to 2 things: her and the Texas Stadium parking lot ;)

I disagree you don't make long term commitment deals based on a short term situation. In today’s NFL there will be other down times and I don't think any person is going to cut a big deal as this based on making the playoffs or not.
