As this is Daktrashes last season wearing the Star it would be prudent if you cant trade him to move up in the draft and pick a QB.
Easy stuff here folks..................
You propose we can make a worthwhile trade for ...."trash"?

This looks/sounds like Schefter creating more Cowboys content to lead ESPN programming into the draft. Now with that said, I'd be fine with the team taking a QB prospect in the 3rd or later rounds.

If the Giants, Broncos, and Raiders skip over Nix/Penix why would the Cowboys draft one of them at 24 when they haven’t even worked them out.

No one wants him for the price tag he is looking for.
I propose he becomes a post-June 1st cut............end this facade he is NOT the one!

The only way I see that happening is if the rumors of Dak to LV are true. I think you absolutely have to move Dak in order to make space on the roster for another QB and get the draft capital to actually select a QB. Keeping Dak/Lance and a 1st round pick QB on the roster just doesn't seem realistic.

The will do that as
OH MY GOSH!!! LOL this is so true!! I can see them doing the same thing like what is the point to waste the pick then make DAK rich like you can totally see this happening
Since they know Dak loves it here ,they will use this tactic as part of bragging with Dak

I know this, the team really likes 2 QB's in this draft. Joe Milton and Spencer Rattler. Here is a crazy hypothetical. WHAT IF, the Chargers move on from Herbert and draft JJ McCarthy, Jim Harbaughs guy? Would Dallas be interested in Herbert? Trade Herbert to Dallas for a future 2025 1st etc, and we trade Dak for a draft haul that includes players. I have a funny feeling they are waiting this out in a game of chicken to see if they have any takers on Dak and what the Chargers do at 4. Remember, Harbaugh believes in JJ McCarthy 100% to run his scheme and Herbert isnt his guy. The ramifications of what they do at 4 are huge. Nobody is talking about this possibility. Joe Milton has been worked out by Dallas at least 2 times, same with Rattler. They also worked out Michael Pratt of Tulane several times. CLEARLY they are looking for a QB. So shefty isnt just throwing this out there. He knows something. Usually, I would never take him that serious, but in this case, its real. We all know the Joneses are not fans of Daks agent and they might not have the stomach to jump back in bed with Dak again due to this fact and the fact of the heavy cost. We all might be shocked as far as what they are doing behind the scenes that we have no idea of. Whether or not it happens is another thing. But if we pay attention to the strong hints Jerry has been dropping...ie his Ceedee comment, and his "all in" comment, that may be what he meant. I am confident we are drafting a QB or acquiring a big name one.
I won't mind us taking Michael Pratt

This is Silly Season. When anyone says anything about the Cowboys and it sticks. Will the Cowboys use a 5th or 6th round pick on a QB? Maybe. But there is no chance they reach for a QB at 24. It makes no sense.

No way the Cowboys take a QB in this draft after already using a 4th round pick from this draft on Lance. They have far too many needs that haven’t been addressed in free agency and only have 6 picks.
Agree they have a lot of immediate needs, but nothing wrong with drafting for future. Plenty of plug-in vets that will outperform mid/late round rookies as an interim plan.

in which round? high in the draft, then say goodbye to either Lance or Rush.
If they decide to move on from Dak (or if Dak decides to go into FA on his own) then an older vet guy like Rush is expendable. At that point you are looking for a long term starter.

Pure guess on his part, but all he's saying is at some point in rounds 1 through 7 the Cowboys may draft a QB. Most teams draft a QB every few of years, the Cowboys tend to go longer.

Is this the plan? Draft a QB at 24, learn under Dak for a year, Dak walks we take the 3rd round comp pick and away we go?

Of course, this is a stupid way to go about it but hey, we are talking about our franchise here.

I'm sorry dude, you lost me on the first line that's not even a hypothetical....

that'd be the most insane ridiculous thing I've ever heard... why would you trade for a player that's clearly not better than Prescott, it would be a parallel move, if anything maybe they're on the same level...

why would you give up draft picks and money we already have the guy on the team?? you can simply keep Dak, no draft picks needed, just resign the guy and that hypothetically you might as well give Prescott 60 million because the draft compensation would be off the charts just to get Herbert and by the way Prescott has a no trade clause,

so there is no hypothetical here, there's too many moving parts... there's too many crazy things in that scenario don't even move past that statement.... Why would you want Herbert over Prescott when it's going to cost you the similar amount of money but extra draft picks?? I mean you say you're going to get a draft hall if our player Prescott agrees to it put the same compensation you probably got to give for Herbert you're making one parallel move that is neutral, you literally end up in the same spot...

But hey maybe the fan base would be happy because they consider it some movement some trades to get their juices flowing so anything to make the fan happy we should absolutely do!!!:angry::popcorn:

They need to if they are serious about not signing Dak next year. Otherwise it's QB collapse time. Unless Trey Lance mysteriously comes out strong.

Problem is it seems like they always fail to hit on QBs when they reach. Aikman was a no brainer at #1 overall. Romo was a luck and almost was cut. Dak was luck to as a 4th rounder, they thought Romo would keep playing.

All three starters in Jerry Era were no brainer or luck. List of everyone else who was purposefully brought in to be "the one" is pretty bad.

The Raiders last month signed Gardner Minshew II to a two-year, $25 million deal - with $15 M guaranteed.
He will compete with incumbent starter Aidan O'Connell for QB1.
And - new GM Tom Telesco and new HC Antonio Pierce have not totally ruled out picking a QB in the upcoming draft, if a prospect they deem will be a good fit is still on the board during their selection(s).
The duo starting out running the Silver And Black aren't going to do an about-face a month later.
So I think these Prescott-to-Vegas rumors can be put to bed.
