Don't have a problem with Schoon at all, we just should have picked another OL man @ 2nd.

But I also like his blocking. Good to see him fulfill his assignment.

Say what you want about Schoonmaker in the passing game, he's basically what we ordered when we opted for a blocking TE.

I saw him making way a few times out there, so I know he's been doing his job in that regard.|

Pollard, too, on the touchdown to Ferg. Pollard is money pass-blocking in the redzone.
We drafted him too high to be bragging on his blocking skills. We knew he could do that, he did that at Michigan. Catch the damn ball or give someone else his reps.

he dropped yet another pass. you don't draft a blocking TE in the second round. you draft a guard....we could have had him in the 4th round

Those were all drafted AHEAD of Schoon. He was taken late 2nd. Once Schoon gets this passing game figured out and gets some targets he will surprise folks. He is huge and can run. For now the OP is right, throwing some good blocks out there.

Half season into a rookie year way too early to judge him as a target . With Ferguson & Schoon and whoever they suit up game day as 3rd TE position is well stocked . I think the more targets he gets he will surprise people .

I don't dislike Schoon as much as I dislike the pick. There were more pressing needs at the #2 draft slot.
This. I want the player to make the impact that 2nd rounder should. Not only did he come in the league at 25, injured on top of it, on top of that need time to develop? Not a good situation, I really hope he he becomes that player.

This is exactly right. Plus, people are forgetting he's injured. Or has PF. That, and, again, he wasn't here for TC, and didn't get any reps there... or at least didn't get many, which matters when you're a rookie.

I am getting bad vibes about Schoonmaker but it is way too early to judge him. Schutlz's first 2 seasons in Dallas were also very unproductive and he was a horrible blocker in the run game. The problem for Schoonmaker is he will lose chances to Ferguson because Ferguson has been so effective lately. It's like the TEs who suffered because Witten was the star even at the end of his career.

But Schoonmaker looks like a plodder to me. He is big and slow and so far has shown bad hands. A guy like him should be catching passes and carrying tacklers down the field. Of course, first he has to catch the ball.

all the more reason why it was dumb to take him that high at a position that wasnt as crucial as they seem to think. I am mostly concerned about our line and the RB position those shoul;d have been addressed in the draft and they werent and it may come back to get us

Schoonmaker isn't just a blocking TE, just like Mazi isn't just a run stuffer. However, both need some developing and game reps to show the other side of their abilities.

You seem Mazi getting some pass rush yesterday just like we have seen Schoonmaker make a couple of catches.

Once they put it together I believe both of them will be solid contributors to this team.

They did draft OL. Might not have been who you wanted or what round you wanted.

Richards is going to be really good in this league. Not saying all-pro or anything but a player that can be counted on
