Schoonmaker starts camp on NFI list

Still hate this pick.

Obviously, he gets time to prove himself. But a 25 yr old vaunted for his experience in a pro system needs to step right in. That was his biggest plus.

It seems this is starting to be a common issue. Maybe they need to change the cleats

It's not the cleats. Stop drafting players with flat feet. It's the leading cause of Plantar Fasciitis.

Tomorrow I'll go over more drafting tips. Make sure Stephen and Jerry tune in.

Not saying he was great. But the year he was supposed to be the guy he tore his ACL week one. Every other year he was buried behind guys like Witten or just couldn’t stay healthy.

Like James Hanna, not world changing but a good depth player.

I feel like the 70-80 catches in 5 years is where Schoonmaker will be at … 15-20 catches a season.
If that high. And I don't call that solid.

Cowboys front office unconcerned about Schoonmaker injury as they have 2 exact replicas on the roster.
Yup.

Then why did they feel they needed to spend a 2nd on him?

To make that clear, spend a 2nd on an older injured player at a position of strength?

This is just another odd 2nd round pick in a long list of them. It never made any sense.

Its the time frame that is most concerning.
I don't believe they would be this patient if it wasn't a legit concern, they wanted to fast track him.

To be fair, they likely felt taking Schoonmaker in the 2nd round was worth the risk...whether he plays this season or next year. Schoonmaker's talents are very high for a TE. Plus, the Cowboys could afford to gamble with Ferguson, Hendershot and McKeon already on the team.
Remember why they passed on a gaurd and drafted Schoon.

Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft will be at practice tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. with bells on.

How much you wanna bet that BOTH have better numbers than Schoonmaker this season?

Funny that I was told the Cowboys are so much better at drafting than the Packers.

PackerNation!

The same thought process that went into the Kelvin Joseph selection also led to selecting Schoonmaker. They had to have a TE with that pick just like they had to have a CB.
Does anybody know if the Joneses knew this Schoonmaker had this injury when they drafted him?
