Schottenheimer blown away by Jalen Tolbert's preparation

Schotty was talking about “highlights” I thought he meant making plays. He literally meant Tolbert using a highlight marker in his notepad.

Lol. My bad.
You're a lot nicer than I am. Lol Some psychologists say that people who like to correct others were probably picked on as a kid or got picked last in recess games like dodgeball. I have two friends in the real world who do that, and they are terrible at sports. They can play a mean guitar but can't throw a football even if their life depended on it.

It’s an inside joke about a guy that was trolling him

I’m wondering if this is one of those comments publicly that happens right before they end up cutting him…or if it’s legit. I hope the latter.

Other then “ penmanship “ and having solid notes I want to see catches in traffic catches in the end zone a solid # 4 at this position this offense desperately needs given the draft capital it cost to take him .

I wish him nothing, but the best.
Get in there and make this team and us impressed young man.

Yup, I get that he came from a small school, so it can take time to adjust to the NFL. I'm looking forward to seeing him play this year. I am excited to watch his progress. If he can be a legit 3/4 WR, we are going to have a lethal WR group.

Whataya know . . . if ever there was good news, this was it. Last year, Tolbert fell on his face, and now, things have, apparently, changed somewhat dramatically. Here's hoping it's the beginning of his newfound excellence. Let's see what the future holds in store for this guy. Right now, things are looking up. Let's hope it stays that way for a long time to come. From being a lost pick to having a newfound wonderkid. I'll take that any day!

That can happen when you draft someone from a small school. Just needs time to develop.

I've seen this thing before where they are way way over enthused about one player in camp. Then the season starts and nothing burger happens.
I think we went through 3 years of this with Trysten Hill. Same people fall for it every year.

Last year the guy couldn't make plays against dudes not even in the league anymore. Who knew all that was missing was his magic notebook?? This is gonna be the greatest turn-around since Homer Simpson constructed Wonder Bat and led the Springfield Nuclear Plant Softball team to the title.

....with Roger Clemens clucking all the while.

Penmanship
Maybe he can be the ‘Handwriting Quality Control cowch’

Nice to see someone supporting this kid who came in with unrealistic expectations from the fans from a small school.

Too easy to let the rule, it takes time, become the exception of these rookies that shine.

This is how you build a player up to boost his value in a trade!

Just kidding. Preparation is everything. Let's hope it translates to his performance on the field.

If all this is true, can anyone think about a bigger 180 degree turnaround in Yr 2 in Cowboys history? I mean last year Tolbert was absolute lost.
It's the mental part that he lacks.

Physical part all there.

If this dude hits we are going to be in great shape folks. He has all the tools

Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer while talking about WR Jalen Tolbert: “Ask him to see his notebook one day. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. How he has prepared his mind, for a young player, you’re talking about a second-year player, I was blown away. I told him that you need to save that and I’m gonna use that in front of the offense. It’s dynamic. I’m talking highlights and the penmanship is amazing. He’s been through every install. And that’s what this game requires. It’s not just talent. He’s figuring it out, but he’s also working his a** off.”

Perhaps the kid is growing g up and learning to become an NFL wr. Good news
