Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer while talking about WR Jalen Tolbert: “Ask him to see his notebook one day. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. How he has prepared his mind, for a young player, you’re talking about a second-year player, I was blown away. I told him that you need to save that and I’m gonna use that in front of the offense. It’s dynamic. I’m talking highlights and the penmanship is amazing. He’s been through every install. And that’s what this game requires. It’s not just talent. He’s figuring it out, but he’s also working his a** off.”

Whataya know . . . if ever there was good news, this was it. Last year, Tolbert fell on his face, and now, things have, apparently, changed somewhat dramatically. Here's hoping it's the beginning of his newfound excellence. Let's see what the future holds in store for this guy. Right now, things are looking up. Let's hope it stays that way for a long time to come. From being a lost pick to having a newfound wonderkid. I'll take that any day!

We’ll see if he blows anyone away on the field this season.

"I see a guy who's figured it out," said offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer at the end of camp's first week. "He figured, hey, last year didn't get off to a great start. I know I talked about him in the spring. He was one of the first guys in the building."

I've been tell you guys that wrote him off it was far too soon.

There was a reason last year went sideways and that was corrected.

I'm not saying he is going to be the next Playmaker but he will be someone the Cowboys can count on to make plays.

He hasn't done anything besides being the subject of offseason fluff to prove you right

Small school guy didn't know what he was doing last season. He is diligent in his study. That bodes well.

He looked like he got an extra helping of the offseason peanut butter. He is built like Cooks in the lower body.

If he has talent he is doing a good job of maximizing it.

I’m wondering if this is one of those comments publicly that happens right before they end up cutting him…or if it’s legit. I hope the latter.
