Schottenheimer fired in SD

Okay, here's a scenario for everyone. What if they go after Tuna?

He has another LT, but on the other side of the ball.

Maybe we get some compensation.

Yeah they would love to have Tuna but if Tuna stll wanted to coach then Wade would be SD HCbecause Tuna would have never left

Nice -- I was just coming on line to post that....

couple of other things are obvious too:

1) AJ Smith and Schottenheimer hate each other

and

2) Chargers officials think the assistant coaches had alot more to do with the teams success than the HC...and they are probably right

David
I think the fact that they realized how hard it would be to hire assistants for a lame duck coach. How were they going to replace all those coaches for basically one year? It's one thing to replace the coordinators, but it's totally different thing to replace the replacements.

Add to the fact that the GM and HC hate each other, something had to give.

LT was a coke head, but I wouldnt insult him by saying Merriman is anything like him...

Taylor DID take over games and was the ultimate nightmare for offensive coaches and players in the 80's...Merriman is nothing like that

they play a similar position, but thats about it

By LT I meant Tomlinson.

And we give Jerry Jones crap for meddling with the team . . . I wonder what the spin on this will be coming out of San Diego . . .

I'm sure they have a few singing Spanos' praises

I believe he was referring to the RB.

Sounds similar to our situation with BP. He would've been a one year lame duck if he came back and we had several assistants to replace.

Yeah fans from all other football boards are cruising over there. Links are everywhere football is disussed on the net

Unbelievable. I seriously doubt the Chargers will fire A.J. Smith in May like PFT is speculating. Spanos made his choice and it was A.J. over Marty. Very ugly situation out there to say the least. With all that dysfunction, Marty should be heavily praised for insulating the team from the tension and going 14-2 with a first year starting QB.

I seen on the SD board that there is a rumor that Marraucci)(sp) will be Sds HC boy I would feel for SD fans if that is indeed the case
