Schottenheimer lost his game in the first half

Let me let you in on something Schottenheimer‘s head coach. He’s also in charge of the defensive scheme . Don’t put it all on the Eberflus - they game planed that debacle together.

And I would respectfully argue not to put everything on Shoddy.

Jerry hired Shoddy as a consultant in 2022.

Shoddy has been coaching football for over 25 years. Not once was he a head coach, even when his name was floated around in other organizations where they were looking for a coach. Let's face it, he got into the NFL because of his fathers name.

Shoddy gets moved in as the offensive coordinator after KM leaves Dallas and goes to the Charges in 2023. Shoddy, then a couple of years later is given the head coaching job for the cowboys by it's owner and GM, which surprised everyone.

Shoddy is one of the lowest paid NFL coaches in the NFL. Shoddy listens to Jerry because Shoddy knows Jerry calls the shots as a GM/owner.

The last coach the cowboys had that had any idea of what they were doing and trying to build was BP, and that was close to 20 years ago now.

What GOOD head NFL coach who has a proven track record would really want to work for a controlling owner who tries to play GM given that same owner/gm's history with his head NFL coach?

Detroit was better than the Cowboys in the trenches. You’re pretty clueless when it comes to how to win in the NFL.

Marty Schottenheimer's teams reached the NFL playoffs in 13 of his 21 seasons, demonstrating consistent regular-season success. Marty Schottenheimer definitely was a much better coach than his creampuff "best friends with the players" son. You can have his cream puff son. I'll take the man who at least knew how to get his teams into the playoffs and gave them a chance once there. Looks like you like rump-kissing, sweet talking, cuddling losers.

I thought he should have been more aggressive to. The defense was awful last night so they pretty much had to score TDs every time they got the ball. Give the Lions credit, there were times last night when I thought they were playing with 15 men on defense. They would rush 6 and Dak would throw to the RB in the flat and the Lions had 3 guys out there to meet him. How did they do that?

But, the game was lost by the defense and special teams. It seemed like every time the Lions got the ball it was around the 50 yard line. Then 1 big play (they had 7 over 25 yards) and they were in the red zone again. The special teams don't get enough criticism because they rarely stop anyone from getting to the 35 yard line on kickoffs and I have yet to see Turpin have a decent run back on kickoffs or punts. You need to win of of the 3 phases of teh game and the Cowboys almost always lose the special teams phase.

The Lions had the ball 11 times last night not including the last possession after the Flournoy fumble. They scored 8 times and missed a FG attempt. They punted only twice. This is the defense that we saw before Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson arrived.

If you understand football, you realize the past set up the run that’s exactly how the Cowboys won in the 90s.
Troy Aikman had more first half passing yards than any quarterback in the 90s. A few people know that if you understand football, you would know that.
And yes, the game has changed in many ways, but the way you keep a defense off balance is to run when you keep a defense guessing if you noticed last night in the fourth quarter Schottenheimer called a run to the left and Detroit was completely unprepared for in fact Hutchinson got smoked.
They were looking pass.
Schottenheimer called a tight football game last night and a very unimaginative run game.

You also saw a bit of the problem with 33 - he lacks explosiveness.

Listen guys, let's support Shotty and this organization. We been doing really good things since shotty got the gig. He didn't go from great hc last 3 weeks , many touting him to be HC of the year btw, to being trash. Have a little loyalty. Let's support this guy. Eberflus is where we may have went wrong however. That and keeping Diggs. Bland might be ok in time. He must not be healthy. But Diggs has to get traded next year. Shotty is far from the issue, nor Dak. Relax.

He's not the problem. He's been the answer. Yesterday was about self inflicted wounds and a awful defensive plan. That and our back 7 is horrible.

Keel in mind fellas, with Micah Detroit kicked us around too, from pillar to post last year. He couldn't get to Goff. The problem is our back 7. Our linebackers being below mediocre got exposed. Our dbs being green got exposed. Our d coordinator got exposed again for what he is, and that's out of touch. He needs fired.
