Schottenheimer lost his game in the first half

unfortunately, this is the type of coach we can have. Outside of Parcells, it's been a long list of yes men here. You think Vrabel had any interest in coming here? I dont.
So....here we are my friend.
You do have a good looking dog though.

Detroit's just a bad matchup. The defense, while greatly improved, is not a good defense. An explosive team like Detroit will expose it every time, leaving you in a situation where you'll have to score around 40 to win.

Eagles, Chiefs, Lions. No one's getting out of that unscathed. Management got its act together too late this year.

We almost came back. Eberflus is who let us down.
Eberpiss really sucks!

Really says a lot about the Eagirls offense when they were shutout in the 2nd half against this VAUNTED Cowboys defense which is still giving up too much.

Keel in mind fellas, with Micah Detroit kicked us around too, from pillar to post last year. He couldn't get to Goff. The problem is our back 7. Our linebackers being below mediocre got exposed. Our dbs being green got exposed. Our d coordinator got exposed again for what he is, and that's out of touch. He needs fired.
Keep

Schottenheimer is the HC. He has a DC and OC. Hre responsible for all 3 phases. The buck stops with him.

I'm tired of him getting a pass on the defense.

Unfortunately he is no longer with us. He was a cocker spaniel. He was just a pup in that pic. His name was Cowboy and he lived to be 13. A great boy. I cant bring myself to change the picture. I have since adopted a beagle from the SPCA. Very rewarding. I will only adopt/rescue in the future. No more lining the pockets of breeders.

If you understand football, you realize the past set up the run that’s exactly how the Cowboys won in the 90s.
Troy Aikman had more first half passing yards than any quarterback in the 90s. A few people know that if you understand football, you would know that.
And yes, the game has changed in many ways, but the way you keep a defense off balance is to run when you keep a defense guessing if you noticed last night in the fourth quarter Schottenheimer called a run to the left and Detroit was completely unprepared for in fact Hutchinson got smoked.
They were looking pass.
Schottenheimer called a tight football game last night and a very unimaginative run game.

You also saw a bit of the problem with 33 - he lacks explosiveness.
:lmao: :lmao:I guess Emmitt couldn’t do it on his own :lmao2::lmao2:

This game was lost because of the defensive coordinator’s decision to rush four guys all night. We came out the fist drive with 5, and a couple blitz packages, then it went bye bye. So did the game. Eberflus pig headed decision to stick with his scheme completely handed the game to Detroit
Are you suggesting the head coach was incapable of speaking into the headset, hey Flus, the blitzing and man was working, keep doing that?

The head coach ultimately should be blamed.

I hear you. I lost my lab last December 15. I can still cry over here. What a great friend. 13 great years with her. We have a new one. Promising prospect. Sorry for your loss. Adoptions are Gods works.

At the beginning of the game, both teams are feeling each other out and not sure what the game plan is of the other team. I thought it became clear the Lions were going to stop the run and pressure Dak. The first time they rushed Dak with 6 guys Dak was caught off guard. But it was clear to me that's what they were prepared to do to protect their CB from deep passes.

The Lions stopped the run by using their LBs and safeties to come up and fill gaps. I've seen other teams block the Lions defense much better than Dallas did. I have seen other teams put a lot more pressure on Goff that the Cowboys did.

On offense it was clear the Lions wanted to attack the middle of the field with short and intermediate passes taking advantage of the Cowboys poor pass coverage. It worked.

If the Cowboys had a game plan that was different than their weekly plan I didn't see it last night. What was their plan of attack last night? Did they see a weakness they could exploit?

The plan was to outscore them and try to slow down Gibbs at least. They did that but forgot he's an excellent pass catcher. Exposing our linebackers. We got beat.

He’s had some asinine decisions of late like not kicking the field goal a few weeks back.

But tonight he was forcing the run over and over - when he had the hottest hand coming in- Pickens.

Marty ball ? More like Stupidity

Throw the ball deep early and often!!!

What’s the matter with you !!! Dive left - dump off in the flats - dive right WT_!!!!

Pathetic

And that trickled down - we looked scared.

Detroit was ready to choke it away / that Crowd was restless an unsure.

Instead of being aggressive - with a potential playoff spot RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.

We played not to lose

And we got slapped around.
Disagree. ALL the FG opts were the correct call imho.

Even the 4th Down conversion we ended up with Javonte scoring? I felt we should have kicked it.

This Offense eventually gets rolling. FG's keep you in ballgame OR extend leads.

The strategy worked.

We were within 3 with 7 minutes to play and needed a stop and couldn't get one again.

That's the story of the 2025 Cowboys. Can't blame Schotty: he put the team in position to capture the game if Dallas could just keep Detroit *out of the EZ* on their final possession.

And they couldn't do it.

Listen guys, let's support Shotty and this organization. We been doing really good things since shotty got the gig. He didn't go from great hc last 3 weeks , many touting him to be HC of the year btw, to being trash. Have a little loyalty. Let's support this guy. Eberflus is where we may have went wrong however. That and keeping Diggs. Bland might be ok in time. He must not be healthy. But Diggs has to get traded next year. Shotty is far from the issue, nor Dak. Relax.
Sincere question as you may know better than myself.

Did Shoddy hire the defensive coach on what he wanted, or did he hire the defensive coach on what the GM wanted?

The bigger issue with the cowboys isn't the players or coaches, but the GM, who just happens to be the owner of the team.
