I would put Schultz and Hayden Hurst in roughly the same tier of TE. If Schultz would sign for say, 3-years/$22-24M I’d be fine bringing him back.

One less need in the draft…

Hurst > Schultz I'd have taken him in a second for 7- 8 M

Good WRs are signing for $11M AAV this year. Schultz will get less than that. He had less than 600 yards and averaged barely more than 10 ypc last year. He’ll probably sign somewhere for $8-9M AAV. I can see him taking a 1 year deal to try to increase his value for next offseason.

Top end WRs are getting 20-25 million. That's where Lamb will be if he's extended. I have no idea if Schultz gets his 15, but we can be sure about one thing, he's going to try.

Spotrac. And before you saying anything, so far, at least with the players I've kept track of, they've all been paid at least that or more. Gallup pretty much got almost exactly what they posted his market value to be.

You can get the same player in the 2nd or 3rd on a rookies contract.

Not drafting a TE in the 2nd or 3rd round. Silly. Draft a QB if there is a good prospect there that you like or BPA. This draft has loads of good QBs this year. You can sign a FA TE who can give you the same production as Shultz. He's JAG.

I am thinking he doesn't get signed. Teams are looking at this years draft. Its loaded with TE talent for much cheaper. I think we get him back on a vastly reduced deal.
