Schultz = Witten 2.0?

This dude is big and somehow gets open.. plus he can block... reminds you of anyone?

He's the closest thing we've had to Witten, but he's probably closer to late-in-his-career Witten than Hall-of Famer Witten. Not the Witten of his final two or three years, but maybe the last couple of years before that when his already limited speed started declining and he had to rely even more on his technique.

Um no, Witten had more natural talent in his little finger. He’s a first ballot HOFer. Schultz is getting better and doing good things for us but he’s not in the same league as prime Witten.

Schultz is a much better athlete than people give him credit for. He doesn't have blazing straight line speed but still decent for a TE. However, his agility numbers from the combine were similar to Dallas Goedert and some of the other top TEs in that draft.

You can see how he has that extra burst to turn the corner when he gets the ball in space and can pick up a few more yards

It's funny how this te core only scores against scrub division teams in a few blowout games when the defender slips on a banana peel but they fold like a Cheap Suit when we need them to make a play or a score any other time.

How do you catch a 2.5 yard pass and run by 7-8 defenders for a 22 yard play w/o getting tackled is beyond belief.

Now we're gonna have to watch this God Awful 12 personell crap instead of the 4 wr sets or dual running back formations that can win something

There was alot of bad plays blocking and catching by these tes also. Js

We saw both of Schultz's tds and both were on blown coverages by Philly's #49 Alex Singleton.

It wasn't talent we were watching at te. It was just the lack of talent by # 49 that stood out to me.

I'm just happy to see a TE break tackles and run hard.

It seemed like Witten just decided to hit the dirt immediately for the last 7 or 8 years of his career. It was annoying watching other teams TE run hard while Witten went down as soon as he was touched.

And I love Witten.
False and I liked Witten

When Schultz side stepped that defender and went in for 6 I yelled loud and was overjoyed! He actually "put a move" on the defender. We haven't seen that since Novacek.

He has developed nicely, but lets hold off on that comparison, at least for now lol.

Schultz was mentioned with George Kittle yesterday. One more real good game and he’ll be compared to Tony Gonzalez before long. :flagwave: Diggs has already been mentioned with Deion Sanders.

I think he's a pretty ordinary blocker, although better than Jarwin, but I am excited about his play as a receiver. Not talking about him the same breath as Witten though. There were a lot of people that felt with Jarwin coming back Schultz would be a seldom used backup, buy I felt he proved too much last year to be put in that position. I didn't expect him to necessarily be the clearly favored TE over Jarwin though. It still may not play out that way. Maybe next week it's Jarwin that has the bigger day.

Doubt any Cowboy TE ever rivals Witten.

Gonzalez/Kelce

Now it's Witten vs Gates for third all time

Witten ran the Y option. All day. He needs to learn to master that with Dak.

Let me know when he plays with a broken jaws and ruptured spleen. Witten was one of the best durable all around ever TEs to play the game.
