Schultz = Witten 2.0?

They’re nothing alike. Schultz is much better breaking tackles , faster, and better after the catch. Witten was a better blocker and had tremendous durability. Two players in different atmospheres.

well isnt that shocker!! fans wanted to give up on him early called him names wished he was cut and now hes good.is it because some players take time to actually develop LMAO..

around here its rookie all star or bust/jag label.
So true. It's as if they will never play as well as their rookie season.

I've seen it happen over and over. He's not the only one on the team with the same predicament:

Connor Williams
Dorance Armstrong
Terence Steele

Offensive linemen, in particular, take a while to develop if they don't come out of college as a top ten stud. This is why I believe we will see similar improvement with Biadasz. However, it takes patience.

It's always humorous to read posters lament about losing a particular player to free agency, one that they had previously bashed.

He’s not slow enough to be heavy hittin Jason witten

He wont be Jason witten...getting T.O. cut

Wow...Witten does have super powers...getting T.O. ousted from S.F., Philly, Dallas, Buffalo, Cincinnati and even that CFL team. Owens burned out his welcome in all those locations because of Witten.

Powerful!

He's Witten w/ a better catch radius.
He learned from one of the best. He may be more athletic. Witten had the heart of a lion and is probably stronger, but Schultz is what we need for how the game is played today.

Interesting comparing the two. I think Witten was no doubt stronger and a better blocker. Route running I think Shultz is just about there and he is far shiftier then Witten was. Witten and shifty were two words that should never be used together. RAC is no doubt a strength of Shultz. He makes lots of folks miss. He also has excellent hands.
At the end Witten was pathetic as a blocker.

fans here picked on doug free like they do CW , yet when he was out or finally retired fans saw how important he actually was..so a player no an all pro or probowl player doesn't make them suk..that word suck, jag, etc are labels fans use for players who maybe not special but role players are needed in this game they all cant be elite because the salary cap wont allow it..there are are 75% of the team is mad eup of more role players then stars.

players like Heath, Crawford etc are all needed to complete a team..

CW is not the equivalent of Doug Free. A better parallel to Doug Free at OG would be Ron Leary. If CW was Ron Leary I’d be happy. CW is not Ron Leary.

I don't think Schultz is any faster than Witten was at the same age.

My money is on Kelvin Joseph as the next rookie whipping boy. Groin injury to work through his rookie year, and tough position to excel at in year one.

Doug Free is a perfect example.

I remember thinking Trevon Diggs had promise as a playmaker but was lacking in coverage skills as a rookie. I am hoping Joseph will at least develop into a solid #2 for Diggs, in the vein of Kevin Smith.

Witten was one of the best tight ends that ever played the game I like Shultz and hope reaches that stature .
