Ignoring hours and hours of tape against five seconds of running in a straight line with no gear on would be a poor mistake.

Who are we sleeping on?

It's a lot more than running in a straight line. There's correlation in combine data in certain numbers/positions and success in the NFL.

You obviously have to trust the tape, but ignoring combine data would be incredibly foolish IMO.

Apparently McKinney cramped up on his 40, couldn't run it again, and he pulled out of all the other drills.

Fair enough. I think he's more quick than fast so we'll see how he does at his combine. IMO he's a 4.55ish player which is fine for a safety as long as the instincts and short area quickness are solid.

Im.jus sayin if nfl is making money on these kids they should have some good staffs on hand to make sure these kids are ready to go.
i agree, its an issue every year at the combine. I wonder how much of the pulled hammies is just fake? I think some of it may be preplanned in order for a player to bow out early and protect his assets.

Dugger is really close to Winfield btw..at 51..either would be a great pick.

Not thrilled with Duggar ball skills
YEP SCARES me some. But his versatility I love. He is a return specialist as well, a threat. If push come to shove, I want Winfield at 51. Give me that elite player that does 1 thing very well anyday. With him, its his knack to go get the ball. That's why I want him.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting him to kill the 40 either. It would have been fun to see the rest of his tests though and confirm that the quickness and explosiveness are there.

funny how all these dudes do that lol ..I aint buying it.

It would have been a lot easier for him to just re-run a second 40 than to fake an injury halfway through the sprint.

There are guys who fake injuries to get out of events. I heard a rumor, for example, that Javon Kinlaw's knee problems at the Senior Bowl weren't that big of a deal; he was removed moreso to remove risk since he had already melted OLman after OLman and had nothing left to prove. But in this case, I think McKinney did strain something.

Jeff Okudah's 40 wasn't good, but he just had a 41" vert and an 11'3" broad. Both those figures are identical to Jalen Ramsey.
