People seem to forget that Moose was a highly effective, efficient receiver out of the backfield...

I want another Moose... is that really so much to ask??
I think it is our duty as Cowboys fans to want another Moose.

Henry Hynoski, please.

Thanks SDogo. I really appreciate the time and effort that you and Hos put into getting and sharing your draft info. Really great stuff. :)

The DMN and the FWST need to look into hiring these guys. :laugh1:

Thanks Hos and SDogo. I enjoyed reading every word. :D

SDogo have you heard of any interest in Ras I Dowling? Or has his injuries scared us away? Just wondering.

Hi,

4 players that i have been following.

OG/OT:

Marcus Cannon: In the mold of Leonard Davis.
Joseph Barksdale: all i read is how is he a great technician but flies below the radar.

Strong interest in both Cannon and Barksdale. Cannon was actually brought in for a visit. The Cowboys were also one a select few that requested additional medical information in him. Teams dont do that unless they have serious interest.

Barksdale has been on the radar for a long time, just not talked about much. I know he also had a visit.

Ras-I Dowling & Davon House

2nd question I got about Dowling so I'll answer them both here. I have not heard a lot about him. I cant even say for sure they have spent much time on him besides basic film study. House is another story. I do know we had scouts at 2 of his games and he received a lot of attention from us at his pro-day.

esmith1790;3919554 said:
Also, any elite speed WR, such as Johnny Knox or Mike Wallace that can be a burner for us in the late rounds?

Cowboys really like Edmond Gates. Came in for a visit. Was interviewed at Pro-Day and Combine. Seems to be a general interest there. As I said before, sometimes you have to put more stock into the guys that are not all over the headlines and the team seems to be pimping. It often says more about who they like then the flip side.

Can you comment on trying to stock up this year ala-2009 versus trading away picks for 2012?

I'm not so sure the Cowboys are trying to stock up at all. Jerry and Jason honestly believe they are knocking on the door of a Superbowl. I get the feeling any trade down in the 1st this year is with the intention of using those picks to move back up.

Any comment on a wink-wink player for pics. I know we cant trade players on the roster during the CBA, but how about we made a 2011 trade and throw in a 2012 pick say valued 4th round, but once the CBA is complete. The wink-wink was actually a player and we trade that player for the 4th rounder we traded during the draft.

Getting a little technical for me in that aspect but it's funny because I just got done reading an article that one of the SI writers commented on the exact same thing and he believes 2 or 3 years down the road your going to hear of teams that had "secret deals" under the table.

Is it possible for coaching staff member resign under his own power just to work with the players. then once the CBA is signed, hire for the same position he quit? ( do NFL teams have secret ways to contact players anyways)

NFL would need to file retirement paperwork #1 and #2 I'm pretty sure you would find yourself in Roger's dog house after a move like that.

See 2nd answer of above post.

Thanks:D

Great information, SDogo.

I really like Rodney Hudson. I just assumed the Cowboys wouldn't .

I'd love to have that guy blocking for Felix Jones at LG.

Tyron Smith
Rodney Hudson
Stefan Wisniewski

I'd draft all of them if I could.

Also, I'd much rather trade up for Patrick Peterson, than to draft Adam Carriker, I mean J.J. Watt, or Cameron Jordan.

Bunting came out with his top 100 list this afternoon. Here are the rankings of the main 1st rounders of interest:

#2 - Patrick Peterson 8.5 (on a 9 scale)
#4 - Tyron Smith 8.0
#8 - Cameron Jordan 7.5
#17 - JJ Watt 7.0
#32 - Anthony Costanzo 6.9

Moose - 6-2 #240

Preston Dial - 6-2 #238 - senior has caught 25 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns ... averaged 10.6 yards per catch and 20.3 yards per game ... the 25 catches are 13 more than his career total entering the season and the three scores are the first of his career ... has also been a force in the running game as a crushing lead blocker for the Tide's talented tailback duo.

That's the lowest I've seen Costanzo ranked (from recent memory) . . . .

I just can't see how we pass on Smith - but good option is this

#13 Carimi
#18 Sherrod
#32 Castonzo

JMO, but that all looks about right to me.

If Phiilips stays healthy he is going to keep the fullback inactive a lot.

I say ditto, amen, etc, etc. We are fortunate to have you and hos on this board. I'm looking forward to your Thursday draft. Again - Thanks.

Just received an interesting post on FB from one of my buddies who claims that 'at least' half of the teams picking between #5-#10 won't end up picking there. Everyone is willing to move down and that unlike most years, teams are very willing to move up.

That's the only thing I'm worried about if we want Peterson. Alot of teams are probably willing to give up alot more to move up then us just giving a 3rd round pick

Sdogo - any idea if the Cowboys have shown any interest in any of the Hokies in the draft this year?

Would love to see Darren Evans in the 6th or 7th or Rashad Carmichael a little earlier.
