Sean Lee heads list of Cowboys' comebacks

That's why we need to bring back Carter. Everyone is mentioning bringing back Durant. While Durant is a solid contributor and humble guy while healthy, he's no superstar and he's old. If you bring back Carter, you'll remain young and can move on from Lee if he gets hurt again. McClain, Carter and Hitchens are all young and can make a great core for years. If we resign Durant over Carter and depend on Lee long term, we could be looking at only having McClain and Hitchens for the future and being in desperate need for that third LBer again.

I don't know a thing about the LB's available for drafting but maybe they'll draft one?

It is criminal that Sean cannot stay healthy.

Durant was also in the mix of best player on the defense before his season ended.

Lee is our best LB and is only due 2.5m. You should not be a GM.

Unfortunately we can't count on him for 16 games. So far in his carreer he's missed quite a few games, 43% to be exact, excluding the two playoffs games this year. Hardly our best LB when he cant suit up.

How many games has he played? If you do the math that way, games played against games paid for Lee has to be doing quite well.
I really hope he comes through but he has a dark cloud over his head as far as health goes.

At 43% that is still a bargain. Lee's injuries have been over-rated and are no predictor of future injuries.

Come on dude, it was a terrible signing:rolleyes: In a 4-3 esp, we basically need to resign everybody but Hitchens to compensate for Lee's "status". That's a terrible way for a DC to plan for the year...?

Over rated? How? People complain about Murray (not you) but are pro Lee. Myself, I would cut my losses and move on.

Murray's gone if we are smart (DWare)...A bruiser is had in later rounds. I get the DM signing if we won anything...we couldn't score in the playoffs. We should still be a running team; let's not forget what this formula resulted in...Romo should be exaggerated more in the playoffs but not necessarily in the reg. season...durrr:D WE WAITED UNTIL THE END OF THE 4th TO LET DEZ OWN THE GAME? Yeah but...really? We had it this year with Dez...we went with the 3 and dust...

5 more wins than the last three seasons? Just happened to be the first season we could actually run the ball. A catch away from going to the NFC title game with a defense that no one thought would get less than 30 hung on them every game. I don't know for sure but 13-5 is better than 8-8.

No one stopped the team from being 8-8 but the (actually like em-ish) coach who allowed this formula to take 3 -4 years? What was stopping Murray's YPC last year exactly?JG, (do you really wanna bring @Khalid into this?) Gimme a helpful beer, just playing but red head is lucky. Could have made the playoffs easily!!!! the first THREE years? Even JJ/SJ said he had to learn on the job bc he ddn't know what he was doing? But let's forgive and forget, and be happy he happened to learn it with two past HC's playing as fiddles...o_O

I'm just saying Lee is our best LBer. He only costs 2.5m next year, that's what we are paying our Kicker.

We have lived with the injuries, now is not the time to walk away just out of frustration. People always say you don't pay for past performance, well it works both ways.

If Lee is healthy coming into the season, as he should be, there is absolutely no reason not to expect him to be the dominant, team-leading LBer he is capable of being.

You can win with smoke and mirrors but only for so long. I agree, it took a while for me to become a non hater of JG. But he did draft non sexy and it's paying off. I expect better results from here on out though. You can't spend this many years building to fade quickly.

No I hear you Dave in that I much enjoyed our success this season with the running game. I meant more so that formula didn't produce a playoff winning formula. DAL was a much more talented team (overall) than both GB and DET but the team hid in the playoffs. They weren't aggressive and relied on the running game; leaving the games close and relying on our D. If the team embraced Dez instead of Murray through the playoff run, we would have a SB. So Murray was great to get us to the playoffs, but didn't produce what the team needed (control over the game).

Here's to good health, but I can't say that I trust his body.... I'm sure he has questions as well.
That being said, I don't trust Ro Mac's body either.

Claiborne, I just want him gone. He's slow and not very physical in my opinion........despite his playmaking flashes.

I really think balance is the key, but you go to your stars in big moments. Dez got robbed of his, Murray fumbled his away......
Despite that, a good running game, mixed with the physical nature of Dez as a receiver will wear a team down, both keep going if the threat of each is there..... We just didn't take advantage of our opportunities. And the D buckled at the end.

Chris Whaley is a guy i'm interested in seeing progress. Hopefully all those guys can contribute next season.

Although i'm interested to see what most of these guys have, we need more than contributors. We already have them. We need performers, guys who are better than what we already have.

I agree and would like Murray to stay as he is definitely a talented player, I just don't want JJ falling into a MBarber type contract here (length wise mostly) Great point on the contrast in how each playmaker "came up" when needed too and definitely don't let this recent Randle mess effect the contract negotiations. Cool Sig!

Injuries are part of the game, sometimes it takes a few years to get completely healthy. Often depending on the injury, a player will over compensate for it, and put stress on another part of the body, then that part gets an injury, even if minor.
I'll wait and see how they all recover.

however, I do not like the drafting of players knowing they are coming off an injury, unless it's a 7th round pick, and is not needed for depth. So can red-shirt them for a year. Whaley was a freebie in a way since he was signed as a FA.

I think Mo can have value as to giving us some depth, and a role player, or even a slot player.
As for LB's I wouldn't mind having Lee, McClain, Hitchins, Durant, Carter, and a draft pick. Then if they keep 7, a FA or 2 draft picks.
I think Cam Lawrence and Wilbur can be replaced, though they do play good ST's.
