Sean Lee Helped Off Field ***Left knee injury per JG***

Considering Lee's history, this isn't surprising in the least, except you wouldn't think it'd happen so soon -- first OTA and wham!

Those guys had Hall of Fame careers. You want to know why Sean Lee is never in the conversation for best LBer in the NFL? Because most people don't even know who he is. He hasn't played long enough to build a name for himself. Sean Lee is much more highly regarded by Cowboys fans than the rest of the world. Everyone knew Urlacher and Polamalu.

So what is the criticism here? Are you upset he's injury prone?

I do not think cutting him is a viable option. Even though his contract is incentive based, a believe a lot accelerates if he is just cut.

I would move on figuratively as opposed to physically. MLB just shot to the top of the list for 2015 if Hitchens, Carter, Holloman etc., cannot hold down the job.

Yup, add MLB to the growing list of positions needed for the future. You see, this is why you don't trade away your draft picks. You plug as many holes as you can and get as many starters as you can.. especially when your team is in a rebuild.

Don't you dare confuse us with your sound logic.

If the Cowboys are a 5-11 team, they'll be that with or without Sean Lee.

If the Cows are a 10-6 team, they'll be that with or without Sean Lee.

He makes no impact on our overall outcome.

Lol @ those who criticized JJ for drafting a back up.

I going to go glass half full. THis injury will be a 2-3 week sprain and this will be Lees one injury for the year. He will be back for the season and play all 16 games. :D

I hope you are correct...Time will tell, there isn't any need to go ape crap until we know what the injury is.

unbelievable man. First ota and he's gone. Better just be something small and not long term

They also took a late round flyer on him, not trading an additional pick to acquire him. Lee cost a 2nd and a 4th.

How about Willis McGahee, Brandon Thomas this year. It happens all the time. Lee has shown his upside was worth a 1st Round pick.

It sucks he got hurt again. There is no silver lining and no long term lessons to be learned. It just sucks.

Some guys weren't made for the physicality of the NFL, and that's just an honest statement. Their bodies weren't made for it.

Right. It sucks when you figure it out but there's a reason why there are so many busts in the league. Some can't play. Some can't stay healthy. I think we're finding out now Sean Lee simply can't play in the NFL. Not talent-wise but simply his body can'i hold up.

Yeah and I think McGahee was a 1st rounder even with the injury.

There may not be another team, in all team sports, with as many fans, who live and breathe hindsight as Dallas Cowboys fans.

Its kind of hard to disagree with him though. When is the last time we've actually had Sean Lee? With or without him the season has gone down to the last game of the season where you are win or you're in and with or without him we don't get in. He's our best defensive player but at the same time I don't put the whole season on him. This season is dependent on Romo and the offense. We had the worst defense in the league WITH Sean Lee. Not saying it was his fault but that's where we are at.

Wow. That might be one of the most ignorant things I've ever read here.

If that were true, why would we want talented players? Why not just plug in eleven guys off the street and call it a day?

Please tell me you didn't use Marcus Lattimore as an example of someone who "recovered" from a knee injury in college... Has he even taken a snap yet?

My point is that good organizations think long term and draft guys with upside. All draft picks are question marks, but if you draft RKGs they will pay off more than not.

I'm not sure he's incorrect. Can we really point to one position on the defensive side of the ball and say x player is the difference between 5-11 and 10-6?
