Its kind of hard to disagree with him though. When is the last time we've actually had Sean Lee? With or without him the season has gone down to the last game of the season where you are win or you're in and with or without him we don't get in. He's our best defensive player but at the same time I don't put the whole season on him. This season is dependent on Romo and the offense. We had the worst defense in the league WITH Sean Lee. Not saying it was his fault but that's where we are at.

When Lee started 15 games in 2011 they had the 14th ranked Defense. In the 3 years he missed significant time they were 23rd, 19th and 32nd. He is definitely a vital piece to the Defense.

NFL insiders are talking about this. And they said these OTAs are supposed to be non contact. No blocking. NFL could investigate and Cowboys could be fined

Haven't seen the film, and don't know how hard the hit was, but I've seen comments about other teams getting "physical" as well. Plus, you take a guy like Martin, a rookie, in his first OTA...the guy's probably pumped, wants to show what he's got. I would think anyone in his position would be wanting to get after it as well. How could you not? As far as the practice being too physical, I can't imagine it's anything more than what other teams are doing.

Rookie probably got a little over zealous.. He's probably not used to pretend football.

I dont personally believe Sean Lee is worth 5 wins. The defensive line as a whole maybe, the LB corps as a whole, maybe..but not one player on defense

I actually misread your post, thought you said 5-11 & 6-10. I will have to agree then that one player on defense should not cause a 5-game win difference.

I hope to see Bruce Carter get a shot in the middle. He showed his most promise there in 2012.

In a 3-4, which has a lot different in terms of responsibilities. I do not think he is cut out for it at all.

I think Ware, Rat and Spencer had more to with that ranking.

My point is that good organizations think long term and draft guys with upside. All draft picks are question marks, but if you draft RKGs they will pay off more than not.

It's a luxury that good teams have. We're not a good team.

Except that's not what he said. He said that Lee doesn't make a single game's worth of difference.

If the Cowboys are a 5-11 team, they'll be that with or without Sean Lee.

If the Cows are a 10-6 team, they'll be that with or without Sean Lee.

He makes no impact on our overall outcome.

Lol @ those who criticized JJ for drafting a back up.

My bad, I must have been seeing things..

That wasn't solely because of Sean Lee. He played the majority of last season and we were one of the worst defenses in the league. Like I said, i'm not gonna solely blame that on Sean Lee just like when we were 14th i'm not gonna blame that solely on him either. You can't have it one way and not the other. You can't give him sole credit for the defense being 14th(which isn't good btw) but then when they are ranked the worst in the league ignore that.

You had it right I had edited it quickly to reflect the original comment i was referring to which was 10-6

It is nobody's fault, football is a contact, violent sport... injuries happen all the time. I really hope Lee's injury is not that serious.
