Disagree. I want that motor, and Zack will dominate in this league for YEARS. He gave a pro-bowl caliber player a shove block in space. Hardly dirty, but it showed me the kid is assignment savvy and physically game-day ready this instant.

Oh, no question we all want that nastiness mentality, but you also have to be smart. Padded practices are for intensity and game speed. Going out there in helmets and shorts is for comprehension and technique...or even classroom teaching the following morning before the next OTA practice.

From the video, it's pretty clear that the leg wasn't in peril until Martin made contact. I think Martin was expecting Lee to hit him square but Lee was already losing traction.

That said, it wasn't even that hard a hit, it looked as violent as it was because Lee was already on the way down but it's not like Martin bowled into his legs. He tried to engage Lee up high and there was no resistance because Lee was already going down.

He pushed him and that is about it. He certainly didn't latch on and drive.

Anyone who blames the rookie LB for pancaking him.....please.

No pads, but Sean Lee doesn't look remotely hindered by injury. Practicing with the same murderous rage as usual

That's how Lee practices on the first day in shorts, so I'm not blaming a rookie OL for flattening his ***. Freak injury....**** happens, and it happens all the time to Lee. Love him, wish him well, but on to tomorrow and other players.

I'm looking forward to Zack Martin delivering pancakes all season long. The man is one talented linemen. As far as Lee is concerned, we'll see if he can recover but it seems he can't shake the injury bug now for 5 straight seasons. He's talented when healthy unfortunately he's so unreliable the team has to be looking for his eventual replacement. That's why I was not against the Hitchens pick, we need healthy bodies along the linebacking unit. If Lee can provide anything eventually should be considered an extra.

man this team is really cursed. again lee is hurt and now probably for the season. it will be interesting to see how this team responds and who steps up and takes lee place as the starter and the leader of this defense.

I'm with you there, but we passed on him in favor of Hitchens. What that reason is exactly, I'm not sure. But we handpicked him for this situation specifically, so I hope the powers that be have a plan.

Failed drug test.

It gives Hitchens a chance like it did a rookie MLB back in 1984... A rookie 6th round pick BTW...

"Eugene Lockhart was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 6th round of the 1984 NFL Draft. He became the first rookie in Cowboys history to start at middle linebacker, when Bob Breunig went down with a back injury during the first half of the season.[1] After Breuning retired at the end of the year, he became just the fourth player in Cowboys history to have held that position on a regular basis. After leading the team with 86 tackles (49 solo), he was named to the 1984 NFL All-Rookie team."

It's not a curse. Lee was drafted injured and he has been injured since then. We didn't even have the most injuries last year.

Not to be crass because Sean is a class man and an outstanding player- but IMO he played his last snap of NFL football vs Chicago. The organization, coaches, media and fanbase should all be ready to move on, and move on with lightning speed from this setback. No excuses.

In watching the video, it looks like he planted his left leg at a bad angle and it simply didn't move when he made contact.

Hardly a dirty play by Martin; the reality is that Lee is snakebitten and injury prone. Great player, but can't stay on the field. If Lee can't handle that type of reduced contact at this speed, what's he going to do when players are going 100% in a gametime scenario?

Are you joking? Cursed? His body can't handle the rigors of the NFL and you're blaming it on bad luck? He's been perpetually injured since his rookie season, which is why teams avoided such an obviously talented player in the draft. Even when he's played he's been hampered, like when he played all those games with a cast.

Cowboy fans are looking down the barrel of a 4-12 season, or thereabouts.
