Sean Lee to have MRI on knee

anyone know the penalty if we part ways with him next year like with a june 1st cut or something

Wondering the same. I never understood that 6 yr extension for someone that inury prone and was a nice player for a pretty small sample size. I thought he was a couple years away from FA at the time too.

Cowboys and Sean Lee acknowledged injury history in new contract. Must play 80 pct snaps to get full $51 million value. Missed 16 games

not surprised... I just hope its not as serious...
I was leary when dallas gave him that big contract.... Hitchens may get his shot early, step up young man.

get well soon.

I wouldn't give up on Lee this early. He is too talented to just cut. Yes, I am aware that he is hurt often. But when he isn't hurt, he is one of the league best. Plus he is still young.

he's done...that's what you call organizational hopeful spin...

Yep. Can you ever remember an instance where a Cowboy's injury turned out to be not as bad as expected? I am sure it has happened, I just can't remember when. This reminds me of last year with Romo's back when everyone knew he was done for the year, but the Cowboys kept saying there was a chance he could play.

You're looking at 13.5 mill. Even if they split it over two years, it's still almost 7 mill each year. The Cowboys don't have enough room to handle that kind of acceleration. Besides, you can't release an injured player without an injury settlement, which is based on how much time they figure the player will miss. It gets very messy, and most agents won't even try to negotiate a deal if the projected time frame is greater than 10 weeks. It's better for both sides if they carry the player on IR until he is healthy enough to play, then release him.

His base salary for 2015 is 2.5 mill. We certainly can afford another year of hoping he can play at that low price

That really sucks. Hate to see someone so talented be so injury prone.

I've had a feeling this year will not go well at all, mainly because of the uncertainty with the coaching staff and Romo's health, and this is just another indication of the direction were heading in the near future

Guess that Hitchens pick may actually work out for us now eh?!

@AdamSchefter: Cowboys LB Sean Lee has been told that he has a torn ACL and is expected to miss the entire season, per @Edwerderespn.

The good thing here is that you get to play the "real fan" card on someone with a different opinion, and thus yell, "look at him! I'm a much better human being and my **** don't stink". There is nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of other people in an effort to inflate your own sense of self worth. Worst kind of hypocrite.

Well said...
